  1. So the big question: Has this improved your range in any measurable way?
  2. I have bought several, and found their performance to be quite similar to the Lectros. :-) for 1/10 the the price. :-) Since 6 of these cost $30 it was a cheap experiment that paid off so far. Since we're talking about having some empirical evidence on the performance of NP-50 batteries, why not test them all? Like scientific and stuff. :-) I don't have the same test equipment as larry :-)
  3. And Larry, if you're doing some testing from B&H, could you test the $5 Watson as well? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/836771-REG/watson_b_3705_d_li68_np_50.html
  4. Thanks for the reply Larry. Having only seen Fiji batteries in the wild, and no Panasonics, that's where my assumption lead me. Your batteries work great my man! I really like having a small rechargeable battery in my transmitters. I tried many different AA rechargeables, and never found a reliable option for a single battery Tx.
  5. The Lectros, which appear to be re-branded Fuji 1000mA , last about 3.5 hrs all 4 of them are about the same. Whereas the Watson, rated at 800mA, last about 3.0 hrs.
  6. I get like 3.5 hrs out of some Lectro Batts, rated at 1K, and almost three hours out of some very inexpensive Watson Batts from B&H rated at 800..
  7. Curtis is my guy. My happy place. Plus that bass player he had was pretty good too.
  8. Zaxnet RF Power output TBD. If this thing can get me some more range to the ERXs, well then I will get interested.
  9. Those look like some Beyerdynamic 201s. That wouldn't be my first or 7th choice for the dear leader. Maybe the sound guy is in a band, and wanted to mic some drums after the gig.
  10. Boy would a bag-living amp solution be cool.
  11. I don't use my X-32 producer often in the field. But it performs quite well when I do. Compared to the Presonus and QSC that I sometimes use, the X-32 is a joy. the iPad software is especially good.
  12. @Nic Stage Looks great dude! Can't wait to hear how it sounds & works in the field.
  13. I use a beefy baby. The fold nicely, are lighter than a C stand, and more sturdy. Plus I get props from the grips for having one.
  14. I've had problems with some firmware on some Arris, most notably the mini. No amount of Voltage can get them going, and the ERX will send just fine to things like the slate. I get bad TC bleed usually over 1V.
  15. So a football player is now blaming his injury on a Tx pack "puncturing his lung." Yikes! I'd be interested to learn more about how this happened. Where was the Tx placed on his body, how was it mounted, what type of Tx, and certainly any medial evidence. With the high salaries that these guys make, could this make us culpable for the injury? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2644159-randall-cobb-qa-never-again-getting-micd-up-after-injury?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial
  16. Great looking cart Bill! I'll drop by your booth and see it in action for sure.
  17. Clutch Synchro is proud to announce availability of the ERX line of Interconnects. The cables are specifically made for either the ERX-3 (Locking) series of ERX-1 (Non locking Right angle) to specific cameras. Our first shipping product in this series is a standard ENG setup with XLR (mono) for audio and BNC for Timecode. We also have specific cables for the Red Epic/Scarlet and the Arri Alexa series that are both 2 weeks from shipping. All are available for direct purchase at www.clutchsynchro.com Hit me directly with any questions of course. brian@clutchsound.com
  18. Wow Alex. Very thorough review. It summed up my findings as well. T700 is a real junker, but a Surface Pro would be a bit expensive. I'm sure Glenn and the gang will find a better alternative soon. I think this will be awesome on a cart, but will be unwieldy in a bag for sure. So far the learning curve won't be too bad to use. It seems easier to operate than setup at this point. I'm anxious to try the newer version posted as soon as the forums get back up.
  19. The file names have been different each time. But renaming a single character on each of the offending files and then a re-mirror got the files off of the machine. I've done two days now with the beta version and have not had any missing files.
  20. I've had some nasty calls as well from missing files. I always get them their stuff quickly, but it is still not cool. Renaming files that auto-segment has been my fix. Then re-mirror. I've been using the last "release" version for those that are warning about the perils of Beta. Little difference in Beta and non these days, or so it seems. I installed the latest "beta" version, hoping to have a smoother day tomorrow.
  21. Thanks for the suggestions. Ultimately stripping the audio out did nothing to the sync problem. Da Vinci still crashed on merge. Interesting that even with BT off, and only two tracks armed, the camera always makes 5 audio tracks. Premier and FCP worked just fine. I messed around with the BT audio. Not great quality, as is the way of BT. I could see it being useful if the camera was ever used for its intended purpose, ENG style. Overtime I'm on one it is rigged all cine-style and needs three dudes on the thing at a time. So in the meantime, if any DIT dude tells us that our audio is causing a Da Vinci crash on merge, we can tell them, its not the camera, and its not the audio.
  22. Aha. I thought the Bluetooth was only for monitoring. Interesting. But that still shouldn't explain the Da Vinci crashes, should it? I'll switch it off tomorrow and see what happens.
  23. I've worked on Amirs before and haven't run into this problem. It is embedding 5 tracks of audio in every clip. I have been through every setting on the camera, and made sure to turn off channels 3 and 4 and still there are blank channels being recorded. So the merges in Da Vinci are crashing. While The BM folks have actually acknowledged that they have a merge/crash problem, we don't know if the above "5 tracks" problem is the cause. However, I'm guessing it is. They said they will get back to me...eventually...after the 5 day shoot is over I'm sure... I have confirmed the 5 track in each clip issue in multiple programs (Premiere, Da Vinci and FCP-X). It happens with 4 tracks or 2 tracks enabled on the camera.
