  1. RS, I am leaving the shop right now, but sennheiser makes a vog speaker w/built in battery and a built in H.Held. I'll get the model # tomorrow. ps- did I miss something? did you want a separate wireless hh? so in a pinch you can use the wireless for another application. or the "all in one" speaker/wireless good to go for you.
  2. Brenda, Sorry for the delay. your pops was a great man, great attitude, great company. he was a pleasure to deal with and also- very easy to work with. I don't know how many times a section on a pole or the bottom connector etc. would fail and he would just say, "send it in we will take care of it", and we would get it repaired n/c or even a new pole! my condolences. keep up the great tradition your father started. Frank
  3. Hey Guys, Audio Department has the Lav Bullet in stock. & the sen/zax adapters as well. 818-566-6526 Thanks, Frank
  4. Borat was shot there, and they were not allowed to use any wireless systems. according to the news, it was all boomed.
  5. Funny-some people forgot it was April fools day. I received several emails & phone calls today telling me it was a good thing.
  6. Back by a popular demand and 2 phone calls- The Audio Department will now be open on weekends, yes - sat. & sun. Matt will be there - I will be at the park with the kids, maybe getting my car washed or at the movies with 3D glasses on. www.audiodept.com
  7. Marc- I love the "parabolic dish" call. the client thinking after watching a show or film were the dish was used thru a 2nd floor glass window in a ND Bldg and aimed down a city block at the talent, that they will get perfect broadcast audio. I have to explain to them that it is just a prop. and what the application the dishes are really used for - then the client/customer gets it. (at least I think they do) Long time no talk to JW Sound community.
  8. Hey Bob, hope all is well. anyway the CR123 batts go for around = $2.50 ea.
  9. Pshap, shit, sorry to here the sad news. I new him going back to the early days at lsc. I used to rent him extra comteks, tc slate stuff like that. he was very friendly, easy to work with and better yet a pleasure to work with. he used to come in and tell us his "war stories". I remember when he started to do audio installs on network reality shows and was considered one of the best. RIP- David. Frank
  10. Borg-RR Great reply. great counter deal. I am sure there heads are spinning. we both know each other for several years now. if this happens - I will back you up with any gear you might need to help supplement your sound package . you are a stand up guy and even a better pro-sound mixer Frank www.audiodepartment.tv
  11. Matt, check out SETWEAR. they are based out here in Cali. and they have a great variety of gloves. even some that you can still use your SD 442. Trew audio(sales rep-Skyler) in your neck of the woods should have them. Frank. www.audiodepartment.tv
  12. Marc, this is one example as to what Jeff has started, and now all of us can contribute. with there different backrounds and fields of expertise, to any and all who will "listen" Marc needed some advise, a VO mic the day before his shoot and - you got a great deal of posters trying to help you with there 2c's Frank, www.audiodepartment.com
  13. Marc, You really can't go wrong with the Rode NT1-A $229.00-(MAP) if you used the 416 during the actual shoot, it might be better to have a different sounding mic for all the reasons you listed on your post describing the medical video. call Gotham Sound 212-629-9430 if you need it today (Fri. 12/4) they have the mic in stock - ask for Melody. Good luck, Frank www.audiodepartment.tv
  14. RL, Sorry to hear about Gabe. everytime he came in and helped you prep/load up, he was so humble, sweet, very nice and a true gentleman to everyone in rentals. once again- sorry you lost your big bro. take care , Frank
  15. Nicole, ask them if they will warranty or repair the Micron systems for you. you might want to check out the lectro venue field system. I have not had time to see the price on the micron quad on consignment yet. Senator, wasn't that the issue mainly with micron wireless, there really is not any vendor in the states to repair them. I remember we had to ship them to England for any repair issues. ttyl-
  16. Nicole, my 2c- the VHF for $100 ? do you know the seller? correct me here senator, but is that system over 10 yrs old? was it from a rental house or a single owner/user, the thought there is, if it is from a rental house -it could have been banged around a bit. if a owner- could have had a little bit more tender loving care. but if the system sounds good and has some decent range for your application (100'-200') and the seller will give you at least a week for a money back warranty- you should do it. the 210 system you should get the combo (RX,TX & Plug on TX) for a 1000. and how do the freqs work for you in ATL? and all the same applies for this system as the VHF. warranty, the seller, demo time etc. hoped that helped. $100 for a lectro VHF is pretty damn good as a backup unit for emergencies when yr UHF might have interference, or when you need to mic up that sudden extra talent etc. good luck, Frank www.audiodepartment.tv
  17. That is a very cool picture. did not realize how many cool women sound mixers, Boom Ops and Utilities there are. (hope that did not come off in the wrong way) I have been lucky like Steve to meet and work with as a vendor for many of them. were was Pud Cusack? and Lori Dovi? (Hi Carrie- she is awesome, would reccommend her anytime) Good times- congrats ladies. Frank www.audiodepartment.tv
  18. Don, Sounds likeyou are looking for the "best bang for you buck" wireless system and for $599 -MAP, The Sennheiser G3 you will not go wrong. we have sold many units since they came out a few month ago and have no complaints at all. they are made out of a stronger metal housing- the G2'S were made out of that thin plastic. they have a few good features-like auto scan, more frequency choices and the feed back from my clients, even better range. they even make a battery pack for the TX. as a one poster stated most people do upgrade to a tram-tr50 or a sanken. we made these custom cables to adapt a lav wired for Lectro to senn. so if you already have one or just want to rent a "higher end" lav, we have the cable option for that application, I think other vendors have those as well. Good Luck Frank www.audiodepartment.tv
  19. Hey Guys and Gals- AUDIO DEPARTMENT is having a little promo until the end of the year. $5 Earmold Fridays- for the walkie surveillance kits. we know that sound mixers will probably not use them, but maybe a grip, electric and even the AD Dept's. might be interested. *Please note- in store & 5 units per purchase please. check out our FB Page for further details. Good luck- keep hearing Jan & February we will get busy again. Frank
  20. Hey guys, RODE is having another great promotion/deal on there popular Shotgun mic. for the next 2 months, when you purchase the NTG-3 from a participating dealer ,you get a Blimp for only $1. check out our company Face book page for further details or www.rodemic.com PS-If you want to use the mic as a wireless boom, for instance with a Lectro Plug on TX. we custom built a phase reverse cable for that application. Thank you, Frank
  21. thats good news. also, earlier in the week. the paper had a pretty good article re: California's TAX incentive program (for the next 5 years) is starting to get popular with "our" studio heads and producers, who don't really want to leave L.A. in the 1st place. so hopefully that will generate some biz for all of us. Happy Fiday-
  22. Robert, your good. just in case, bring your backup rf's.
  23. Hey guys, If anyone is interested, The Audio Department has the DEVA 16, 5.8 and the Fusion for rent. www.audiodepartment.tv thanks, and hope things pick up for all.
