Hey All,
Not sure how many of you have seen these? But they have been super handy on set for me.

You are aware that this is more geared towards the vlogging crowd, right? I wouldn't just sell your ERX's and pick these up as you should rather test these for your use case first as there isn't much control over them in terms of features and range might be considerably less than what you're used to.
I do realize. Once I did some more digging about these units I have changed my mind. The battery life isn’t great on these units.
I’ll wait until the Deity BP-TRX’s come out.

QuickBooks!
I have it all set up with my accountant and it’s connected to all my business bank accounts and credits cards.
I can invoice directly from my phone or computer and clients can pay me through it. My accountant has access to it all making my tax process much easier.

This is some impressive range. I have Shure IEM’s for my Boom Op and love them. They really need to come up with a bag receiver and I’d consider switching over to them in the future.
The video also proves you don’t need to crank the power at the transmitter to get better range.

All advice given so far is great. I'd also say if you can't afford the sound devices, Zaxcom or Cantar up front (most people can't) the Zoom F8n is a good place to start for a recorder, if you can manage to get a little more cash look at the Sound Devices MixPre's.
You can also go to www.trewaudio.com or www.gothamsound.com and look at their used gear. Also if you have a place near you where you can rent and try stuff out before you buy that's always a good option.

If you haven’t seen these, they are fantastic!

Still waiting. Would love to replace my Zaxcom ERX’s with these for bag work.

This is a great site the information here is invaluable. I should get back in here more. I did get sucked into all the Facebook groups over the years.

Hey all,
Have any of you jammed timecode into a Atomos Inferno?
I'm working on a shoot that has one. It's on a FS700 connected by SDI. I'm using Zaxcom ERX for jamming. I get an error message saying the frame rate doesn't match. Yes I checked everything like three times to make sure it matches. I tried adjusting the output voltage. I read the manual. I've now left three messages with Atomos and they haven't got back to me yet.
Any I ideas or thoughts would be helpful thank you.

Well that is fantastic! The remote audio ones are half the price of the Audioroots.
-
This might be a silly question, but would my audioroot system be able to read the data on these the same way it does with current audio root batteries?

I was going to plug a mic into a recorder today...but I was afraid I'd be infringing too many patents!

Justan, the Tascam DR-10c is NOT a Zaxcom product so your statement has no validity and is a useless reply to TomBoisseau's question. Do you want to look like the opportunist and Zaxccom basher you are? The patent dispute between Tascam and Zaxcom has for the moment resulted in the DR-10c not being available for sale in the US (as per Tascam's website and the dealers that sell Tascam products in the US). To my knowledge there has been no restriction on its sale outside the US (the Zaxcom patent applies primarily to sale in the US). Patent law, however, I believe provides some legal language regarding purchasing items in other countries and shipping them for use in this country. Again, I am not a lawyer, I do not have any direct contact with the lawyers who work for Zaxcom and Tascam, so I'm not able to answer these questions properly.
Why yes I was making a point. And yes personally I will never use a Zaxcom product again, I know lots of people in Canada who would like to. I was told back in December the issue with the IC would be taken care of. And I have heard nothing about it. And yes did call Zaxcom, not mentioning who I was, and I was only told we are taking care of it. That was a few weeks ago. Now with NAB and new products coming out, I'm sure more people will have interest for there products up here.
I apologize for jacking the thread.

Is it "legal" to order a DR10c out of Canada and have it shipped to the US? If so, does anyone know of a supplier in Canada who has them in stock?
Tom
I've tried to find them up here with no luck so far. If you find someone, please let me know.
The product should be find to sell in Canada, since Zaxcom products can't be sold in Canada because they haven't been approved by Industry Canada (our FCC).
-
Will these new products be approved by Industry Canada? Because currently no one in Canada can buy any of your products.

I really hope this is not the end of the 7 series
I was really hoping the next recorder was going to be a 7 series. Le sigh.

Carlos, coming from a Nomad to a 664, let me tell you that this is a beast. The weight was noticeable in a bag. I imagine this guy won't be much different.

Haven't tried them. Can't imagine them sounding better than the NTG3, and not worse than the ntg1 and 2,so it's probably ok. The one thing that made me chuckle a bit is that if you look at the data sheet for the mics, the roll off is pretty funny. It says it's a cut off at 75hz,but looking at the frequency response chart it clearly shows that there's a small decline from around 400 hz and all the way down to 20 (!!!) what's that, like 6dB per octave? Here's a link http://www.rode.com/download/ntg4plus_datasheet.pdf
And also, who would want a rechargeable battery in a mic? That charges with a micro USB cable? And one of the selling arguments is that you can charge it in your car!?
That's what I thought. Why would you want one more thing to charge? And can it be powered by 48v?

I get one bump a day damn it! :-p

Zaxcom plays quite nicely with others, thank you, but does not have any recorders or devices (yet) that utilize Dante network protocols. Zaxcom is NOT working on "their own version of Dante" but rather I imagine they will come out with devices that utilize Audinate's Dante protocols. This will insure that Zaxcom continues to play well with others (not withstanding Justan's personal opinion).

Ugh. They used mikes instead of mics.

I have also been lucky to Beta test for it. I currently use it mainly as a back up. I have drop box which I pay a monthly fee for. At the end of a shoot day I give them my card. But when I get home I back it up to the cloud and email a link to production just saying here is a back up just incase.
The whole system works well, the app and backing it up, it’s all pretty straight forward. And nice having the files on your phone to access at anytime. I really only use it with WiFi. I don’t do the cell phone thing because not sure if you are all aware, Canada has expensive plans that don’t offer much. So transferring data over a cell phone would get eaten up pretty quick.
I also recently forgot to send a sound report on a job I easily went into Viviana Cloud made a new one from the day I missed and sent it off.
ive been very happy with it and I plan to continue to use it.
