  1. Yup, the existence of fake 416 mics has been well known for a long time now.
  2. That used to be my bag until I upgraded to the Orca OR30, and I really do like it a lot more. Things like the ridged frame, the hooks on the bottom for the harness, etc
  3. Yeah I think the OR270 is basically an OR27 bag but tweaked to better fit the oddness of the MixPre design, so the OR270 is very worthwhile checking out.
  4. Yes it is older, the 664 was the first of the 6 series to come out from Sound Devices. And it is exactly because of this older analogue design (like you said) is why we won't see features like automix and others added to it. (just like we also won't see this added to the 552 either)
  5. Yeah the 664 is an older design than the 633/688, is why the 664 also didn't get automix
  6. This would likely be "more than 80% of a KM185".... https://microphone-parts.com/products/sdc-84-microphone-kit-neumann-km84-style This one might interest you as well: https://microphone-parts.com/products/sdc-microphone-kit
  7. I wonder if there could be an app for changing the names (and other settings) of the TX? Would speed it up an awful lot vs using the built in keyboard!
  8. Huh? They made fun of you, how so?? That doesn't sound good.
  9. AKG CK63 or Sanken CS1e are my normal go to mics for indoors, depending on the situation. (but have all of the AKG CK93 / Oktava / Audix SCX1-HC as well, great lower priced mics to consider as well for indoor recordings)
  10. I'd recommend buying the Remote Audio HN-7056 instead for recording with.
  11. Crazy??? Why would RED do that??? Am guessing this was a RED Epic-W? (or is it an older DSMC1 Epic?)
  12. Did sound for a feature film last year with 2x Panasonic GH5 cameras, and we had initially a problem in which the audio was consistently off by a few frames. However it appears this is a flaw with all GH5 cameras, in that the camera starts recording the video first then only starts recording the audio a few frames later. Perhaps the same is happening with your situation.
  13. I hate when that happens, I can't read someone else's mind! Neither can I see into the future. Just have to give my best gut guess instead.
  14. Only six hours! (and surely will full to half that length after a few years of constant usage....)

What is a "space saving file"? Usually it is apples that is cheaper 😉 Wish I lived somewhere that had oranges cheaper instead!
  16. It does use it to stay in sync with another F8, that I know for sure, as Zoom has confirmed this multiple times. Don't know about the details of if it would work as well with other devices as well other than another F8.
  17. Has the Denecke TS-TCB stopped being made? As B&H, CVP, Pinknoise, etc all list it as "discontinued" or "out of stock". And others like say Gotham Sound doesn't list it at all (even though they carry other products from Denecke). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1254743-REG/timecode_systems_ts_tcb_fcc_denecke_intelligent_hardware_clapper.html https://cvp.com/product/timecode-systems_ts-tcb.ce_intellislate The TS-TCB came out in 2014, are we're going to see soon a new updated replacement?
  18. MOTAT in New Zealand has had the same too since I was a young kid, so you could whisper to someone else on the other side of the room. As a child I thought that was pretty cool. https://www.motat.org.nz/
  19. The URL has changed to this: https://soundrolling.com/blogs/sound-blog/the-timecode-camera-cheat-sheet
  20. I wonder if even after radar if the British kept on pretending to use these sound mirrors to trick the Germans into thinking they're more effective than they are? (and thus the Germans would waste more resources into making their blimps/aircraft quieter, when of course that was pointless! Plus distract the Germans from discovering the real reason....) As I know the British went to great lengths to keep a secret their super weapon: "radar"! As it was a powerful tool in the fight against the Germans.
  21. What is that under your 633?
