  1. Hello! We hear ya! EMBRACE comes as a standalone microphone with a set of two earmounts, or you can now purchase the new LAV SWITCH KIT which comes with a set of 3 different colored earmounts. https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/lavalier_switch_kit/ Your input will definitely be passed along to our marketing and development team. Thank you for your interest!
  2. I will be attending this webinar tomorrow: https://practicalshowtechcom.squarespace.com/schedule/pst-16-lunch-break-with-a2s Best Practices and insights from a panel of A2's working in Television Broadcast, Industrial Corporate and Theatre.
  3. Hi Jim, Thank you for providing this input. We'll definitely be mindful to always offer fresh and relevant information.
  4. Hi Jay! It's nice to hear about your collaboration with Carl Countryman. As you pointed out, they are different because the Embrace uses an ear mount rather than a boom across the face. The mic is actually extendable if you need it closer to the source for softer voices. Here's an example of the different lengths for the Embrace mic: https://www.facebook.com/psa.audio/photos/a.429369097078135/2934164289931924/?type=3&theater There is of course the earset mic option as well that features an "unbreakable" boom that bends 360°: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/products/microphones/earset/performance-vocal/co-8ws-omni/ And here is the cardioid version: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/products/microphones/earset/performance-vocal/cr-8s-cardioid/
  5. They're actually used for theatre, location sound, tv broadcast and even instruments! Here's some more information on it: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/products/microphones/earmount/eo-8wl/ The mic is omni, but there is a cardioid lav option: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/products/microphones/lavalier/cr-8l-cardioid/
  6. Hi Henri, You wrote an insightful article; thank you for sharing it with us! If I may respond in kind, here is an article on Televisa who uses the EMBRACE Ear-worn microphone. Read how they're using it in their studio broadcast on actors. https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/2019/03/23/televisa-adopts-embrace-a-rapid-and-concealable-micing-system-for-its-television-productions/ Also, check out the video here from a location sound mixer in Los Angeles: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/markets/broadcast/
  7. Hi Thomas, Check out the EMBRACE Ear-worn microphone. The option of wearing it on the ear is helpful because it's not on clothing and is discreet. Also, the mic stays on and is in the same spot so it's never out of pattern. If you'd like to learn about how others have used EMBRACE, please check out the video here from a location sound mixer in Los Angeles: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/markets/broadcast/ And here is a story from Televisa on how they're using it in their studio broadcast on actors. https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/2019/03/23/televisa-adopts-embrace-a-rapid-and-concealable-micing-system-for-its-television-productions/
  8. @daniel marketing would like to contact you. could you please send us an email at marketing@point-sourceaudio.com
  9. @daniel Sorry about that; looking into it. Will get back to you! @drpro Thank you for your question! PSA is often compared to Sanken & DPA. It’s important to understand which “flavor” though in an apples to apples comparison. We have both a HIGH and LOW sensitivity lavalier mic for different applications. https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/products/microphones/lavalier/co-8wl-omni/. If you’d like to hear from someone who’s using the product, check out the video here: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/markets/broadcast/.
  10. @IronFilm That's right: L/R each in beige, brown and black = 6 units. Traditionally, lavs are most popular in beige and black, but with camouflaging using EMBRACE, we recommend matching the mic to the hair rather than skin tone so all 3 colors will come in handy. The material can also be custom colored with markers for extreme camouflage. What are your preferred outlets for purchasing gear?
  11. @IronFilm @daniel We hear you. Our EMBRACE design originated for theatre to solve the time consuming task of hand-tooling "ear rigs" for large casts...thus their packaging in bulk. Its awesome they're finding their way into other applications for TV and film. In the U.S. Trew Audio in Los Angeles can offer these as one-off. https://www.trewaudio.com/ You may have to call or email them though as this is a special item. If a 3-Pack is interesting for folks here, please "raise your hand" and we will be sure to pass this on to our Marketing team. Thanks for all the input!
  12. Hi Daniel, The EMBRACE Earmounts are sold as accessories to the EMBRACE Microphone. EMBRACE Earmounts hold two patents and are custom-fit for Point Source Audio lavalier microphones having a standard cable diameter of 1.5mm. We do not guarantee the fit for other brands of lavalier mics, but the Earmounts can fit cable diameters from 1mm up to 2mm. If you'd like to learn about how others have used EMBRACE, please check out the video here from a location sound mixer in Los Angeles: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/markets/broadcast/ And here is a story from Televisa on how they're using it in their studio broadcast on actors. https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/2019/03/23/televisa-adopts-embrace-a-rapid-and-concealable-micing-system-for-its-television-productions/ The mic element itself is the same one used on a majority of the Broadway and West End Productions: https://www.point-sourceaudio.com/markets/theatres/ I hope you find this info helpful!
  13. Daniel, Our sincerest apologies for this. Please let us investigate with the UK reseller and clear this up. Some of the delay may be caused by the fact that the EMBRACE was just released less than a month ago and many of our resellers are still working to catch up to the interest and demand! Given the time difference, allow us 24-36 hours to get some answers and back to you.
  14. Ok I see the problem! We only had @Gotham Sound listed for the NY location under their zip code 11106. We'll add the Atlanta location to our Dealer Locator so it comes up on the search!
  15. Thanks for the question Paul. Our proprietary EMBRACE Earmounts are designed for a custom fit to the Point Source lavaliers. We have not tested the Earmounts for compatibility with other mics; although, like yourself, others have expressed interest. Earmounts come in packs of 6, 12 or 24; or if you wanted to try the whole EMBRACE package, it comes with the mic and 2 Earmounts. @Gotham Sound is an authorized Point Source Audio dealer. We'll follow-up with them about getting the products posted online for purchase, but please contact them directly and we're sure they'll be able to help.
  16. Thanks for the great comments and feedback! @Midnitesnd If you're looking for dealers or distributors you can just enter your zip code and search at http://www.point-sourceaudio.com/purchase.html. If you don't find what you need, just send an email to sales@point-sourceaudio.com or use the handy CHAT function to talk with us online at our website.
  17. Hi Dan! The cable for the entire Series8 line measures 1.3mm in diameter and just over 4 feet, or 1.2 meters in length.
  18. Hey Phil, glad to hear that you'll be checking them out! I wanted to let you in on a new product we just released because depending on how you're using the lavaliers, it might be perfect for you. If you are interested in checking out our lav (same waterproof element/specs) in the new Earmount style here's a quick link: http://www.point-sourceaudio.com/lavalier_microphone/omnidirectional/EO-8WL.html. This new mounting style provides camouflage with consistent mic placement regardless of head movement. Feel free to send me over any questions otherwise looking forward to hearing your findings!
  19. I appreciate your question about the PSA mics! All the SERIES8 mics share the same omni or cardioid elements among all the headset, earworn and lav styles. If you would like a list of users for reference, please let me know and I'd be happy to help.
