  1. Happy birthday Jeff! Thanks for this amazing forum. Best regards, Marco
  2. And those mics he used for interior and exterior, regardless the situation? Best regards, Marco
  3. I use the 744T and I always give a DVD. I'm seriously thinking of buying the XL-DVDRAM ( http://www.sounddevices.com/products/xldvdram.htm ). It's firewire drive and also bus powered from the firewire. Now, if they are really in a hurry you could send the 744 to transfer the takes. It's an extreme suggestion. Best regards, Marco
  4. Oleeé!! Amazing skills! What mic is it? Schoeps? I also noticed that he is not using any headphones...wondering why. I'm also curious to listen to the result. Best regards, Marco
  5. Saw it today and laughed a lot. I was thinking than we should create a OMG topic and upload this video in. It's even slightly disturbing! Hahaha Best regards, Marco
  6. Richard, It must have been a tremendous experience working in that series. I know it's too much to ask, but could you share some information on how you prepared the scenes on the beach? Best regards, Marco
  7. It's a very nice idea! At long hours this way of calling the slate, can break the tension.
  8. Hej Christian, Nice job! You used the MS for specific places, like the coridor or for the hole movie? Best regards, Marco
  9. Can't wait to watch it on the big screen! In another subject apart, I always enjoy watching the special features and also the process of the shooting. Try to figure out what mics the mixer used and how the booman uses it to capture the invoice. Sometimes I even watch the special feature before watching the actual movie. I just got the Conversation of Coppola and I'm watching the Walter Murch's interview. Best regards, Marco
  10. Marc you're absolutely right. It's a very tough location with a lot of wide shots and especially the scenes located next to the sea with the actors facing the ocean, knocked me out. I thought that it was ADRed. Very good job. Best regards, Marco
  11. I would use microphones able to "handle" the noise. Lavaliers like Voice Tecnologies VT 500 or Sonotrims could work on spots like the one you describe. I recently got the VT and tried them in a commercial where the set was not a sound stage at all!! Reflections everywhere and a very bad sound isolation. It was next to an avenue and you could clearly hear the cars passing by. So I used my newly purchased VT and I could barely hear the traffic. As for boom an MKH 70 could work for you. For what I've read you could try the Sanken CS3e but you need to handle it correctly. The truth is that I've never had the chance to try the sonotrims and the sanken, my experience is based only from what I've learned from here. But you can rely on my opinion about the VT's and MKH 70. Best regards, Marco
  12. I grew up in a house where music was present all the time. I remember my parents used to listen to any music. Beethoven, Shostakovich, Miles Davis, Jacque Brel, Edith Piaf or Argentinian tango or Argentinian zamba and being a Chilean folclor groups as Quilapayun and Inti - Illimani. I was 11 years old when I saw "The Wall"...and that was it. I started listening to Pink Floyd, Beatles and then to Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeath, AC DC, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bob Dylan, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Radiohead and in some point I even started buying movie soundtracks with a classical aproach.
  13. Good to hear that Hawaii and New Zeland are ok. Unfortunately there's been reports from Chile that more than 300 people were killed.
  14. A strong earthquake of 8.8 hit Chile at 3.34 am local time. The center was in Maule, Concepcion. There's an alert of a possible tsunami hit. There's been a report of at least 16 deaths.
  15. Actually I'm getting the MK41 with the CMC and also the CCM's. But humidity and dust is some characteristics of my country.
  16. That's a bummer. I wanted to buy the CCM but reading this I'm thinking about it...Is there any mic that I could use instead of the CCM's? Best regards, Marco
  17. Jeff, thank you very much for the opportunity to learn everyday something new and be part of this school! Best regards, Marco
  18. Congrats to the Sound Team. Saw the film a couple of weeks ago and loved the sound design, which supports the story and the documentary style of the image.
  19. Thank you guys for your answers. I was more worried about the frequency issue. Jon If need to rent the equipment I'll contact you. Best regards, Marco
  20. Hey guys, I need your help on this one. I have the eW 100 G2 Tx and Rx(bought from Greece) and probably during May I'll be in London. So, are my eW's going to work there or am I going to need to rent other? By using the Tune the frequencies goes from 786 MHz to 822 Mhz . Best regards, Marco
  21. I was told of a production that took place in a small village in Crete (an island part of Greece) during summer. They were shooting in the Square next to a huge tree full of birds and crickets (cicadas). The problem was solved when an old man stood up, took out his old 9mm and shoot 4 times in the air. Complete silence for the hour and a half!!
