  1. Ha Perhaps his first name is not ben.. Doh Ha! google stiller mod oktava .... Darn edit it is Sitler... Hitler with a S and it is bill not ben... the DYI mod is only 39 bucks...
  2. If you are decent with a soldering gun Ben Stiller sells a kit, parts and detailed directions. Mod one of yours and A/B them, It's like riding a bicycle for the first time... It will wow you!
  3. Yeah, new should be show room clean. The real 012's to buy though is the modded vintage ones. The Russians made some great capsules on the early years but the active components they used were garbage, basically the mod's (Jolly, Stiller or Dorsey) replace all the Transistors, caps and a few of the resistors inside the mic. search ebay - oktava 012 modded. Night and day comparison to the stock 012's.
  4. my Favorite Phone I got that in the 1980's . About the time my daughter was born. I loved that little girl Almost as much as my phone...
  5. You might purchase some compressed canned air online and have it sent to your guy, buy two and sell one to the camera guys for a profit. Ha! Here is a link to a freq finder. http://portal.sennheiser.co.uk/sifa
  6. Your welcome, language is fickle. What means one thing in one language can call down some bad juju in others. Ha! Best to you're film and great luck! FYI, he used the word "shooting in" everywhere "filming" was for the curious of you all out there.
  7. Wow, this tiltle is going to have the internet robots working overtime. I would delete this post faster than all fast. You should have titled it "filming in". Dont bother with me robots I am in arizona... Ha! JP
  8. I have always wondered why we don't use the Schumann resonance as the heartbeat of the world. We could easily adjust for the variables given that they are global. I'll bet some of you did not know the world produces a beat every 7.8 ms Not to mention it would be a part of US.... what we feel naturally (we cant hear that low but we sure can feel it!) https://www.sedonanomalies.com/schumann-resonance.html
  9. Never knew about the inspiration for "Let It Be". Wow!
  10. what do you think about wrapping the stove in foil and grounding it in a pinch?
  11. Hey Paul, I love the design of this 10t. Its a game changer for the price point! Can't wait to get one and try it out for Xmas. Ahhhmmm (clear my throat) hope my ex wife sees this to put it on my Santa list.... Wait, my ex ain't gonna buy me one... Hell, she's off my Xmas list and I am buying one for myself! I've been naughty enough! JP Borden P.S. Happy Festivus!
  12. Ditto, people are brutally rude here. I don't like to post anymore at this site, but I can't find a better one for the subject matter.
  13. Thanks for the feedback. I am realizing my rates are to low after talking with others also. Spelling errors? I'll hop right on it! I really did not want to post jobs I have worked on under a different company. (just simple ethics)
  14. This scares the heck out of me. What if they recorded only the harmonics of the attack. Permanent hearing loss or permanent tinnitus would take away the most important tool I own. Egad!!!! permanent
  15. Hi, We have just opened a large film location sound service company based out of Tucson AZ with Rogelio Camarillo as our senior engineer. Our equipment is top of the line and we have a combined experience level of 40 plus years as sound engineers. Having a bilingual (english/spanish) professional staff rounds out our skill sets to adapt to a diverse client base. I have taken the liberty of listing a few direct links to our website, "Production Hub" and FB listing. Please give us a like on FB and feel free to bookmark our web site for your next project. Thanks, Arizona Sound Sculpture https://arizonasoundsculpture.com/ https://www.productionhub.com/profiles/details/319437 https://www.facebook.com/Arizona-Sound-Sculpture-109373689718993/
  16. I work at a Old west movie set and have seen it all also. IMHO the "great" directors come in with story board and shot list planned to the second. BUT they are more than willing to change or adapt for numerous reasons. Usually things like a new idea from lead cast member, weather, running low on time, equipment failure to name a few. I am sure we all have a story of why the change... what is you're best story?
  17. So after reading a few replies, (thanks all) it appears to me some of you are using the delay function of the mixer on the lavs when adding a boom to the mix. Quick math check... sound travels at 1088 ft per second, if the boom is 5 ft above the head of the actor and that would be a 5ms delay? Seems like 5 ms would not be a issue with phasing. I read that some of the lav transmitters that are digital 2.4 Ghz (they A to D in the transmitter before sending it to the receiver) say there is a 25ms delay. Am I Incorrect in the above statements, or have I fallen asleep and am dreaming? Ha!
  18. Thanks for the info all. I realized after reading some of your posts that my recorder had a built in assignable mic for slating. Doh! I loved all the suggestions of how often and what situations you all did room tone and wild tracking. ---- My next question is what is the weirdest thing you ever said on a slate? Ha! JP
  19. YesI It was thanks .. also, Do you record that "voice slate" on a separate track if you are at the cart not near the boom?
  20. Sorry I still learn every day.. forgive me if they are rudimentary. 1. Do you record a spoken word from yourself for "room tone" on a separate track or on the boom mic track. 2. Similar question, Do you record a spoken word from yourself for "wild-track" on a separate track or on the boom mic track. 3. Do you get room tone before or after a take/scene 4. Do you wild-track before or after a take/scene
