  1. You sound ridiculous Mirror. I agree with Constantin. You can't just put egg cartons on a wall and say that'll work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  2. Mirror, how is anyone supposed to just know this answer. I know what to do for a studio and live production but film is DRASTICALLY different since your location ALWAYS changes. You're constantly moving along with scenes vs everything being permanently installed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk Wow you guys were really helpful! I really appreciate your ideas and will be open to all of them. Also I'll be able to watch the video tomorrow and see if I can spot out those flaws! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  3. Can you guys tell me what's the difference? I understand there is a science within the blankets but DIY sounds like a better idea....financially. we can get away with a few things especially if we are talking about recording voices in an empty room carpet or non carpet. You know, just something for the exposed walls. What do you guys think and do. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  4. Well I've actually used the device before and the 1/4 sounds so bad in comparison to the point I wonder why they made it. But it could have been just that device perhaps. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  5. H4n 1/4 jack is not the way to go for good audio at all. Xlr input will be better but that device sucks in general. H/6 has better preamp but still not where you need to be audio wise. It's like saying instead of getting mcdonalds, go to steak and shake Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  6. Is anyone on Oz publishing? It supposed to be a directory for crew etc. If so, can you guys tell me your thoughts and how you feel about it. Thanks. Ozonline.tv is the site Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  7. Ok, great! Thanks for letting me know. And yeah that's very true! I usual do live corporate gigs but its very slow right now! So the hunt is real. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  8. Wow. I heard about those types of boom ops that make that money. Man. I wonder what it took to get to that status and folks say, cool come on in Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk They probably got like 4 different mics minimum or something Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  9. Hey guys! Just want to know the general ball park range on what an op should charge for comercials and such. Hourly/daily etc. Just want to make sure I'm on the same page. Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  10. Ok, cool. Well Ive borrowed the rode V2 blimp. I heard from others that also had a more expensive nonprosumer blimp had some of the same results idealy. Forgot which one it was but it was insanely expensive. That's what I remember. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  11. Hello everyone! I just want to get a few things cleared up. When I use a softie, I use it for regular day weather. Little winds here and there but it's practically a the best ideal day for recording anything. Now when I'm ready to use a blimp, I'm most likely to be in a moving car with windows down or on a beach or some type of harsh environment when the wind is going against me. Now here is the question of the day, I know that regular foam is able to block 9mph wind. A softie by rycote I forgot and a blimp I'm just not sure. The reason why I ask is because I see many people just going with the blimp at all times but to me I try to ONLY USE IT IF I HAVE TO! why? Because I hate the closed in sound of the capsule. Is like the sound is trapped inside and can't get out unlike the softie which is transparent sounding but gets the job well done. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  12. Question, what mph wind do you guys think is best to use a windshield such as a softie vs a dead cat/blimp. I tend to use regular softie for outdoors and blimp for moving cars, beach and stuff. I hate the sound of the inside of the blimp. Its definitely a use it if you really have to type thing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  13. Hello everyone! I'm Nattalie from ATL and I have my own boom kit! Please let me know if any mixers are looking for someone to help with non union gigs. Thanks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  14. That's cool. So is this union or non union? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  15. So, as far as mixers picking out boom ops, what is it that Mixers expect or look out for. For example, When I call production managers for any upcoming work, they tell me that they let there sound mixers pick out the boom ops. I have seen bad boomers before but how do you get that chance with mixers you've never worked with before. I guess one thing is showing them your reel if they feel like watching lol. What else?
