Hello everyone! Has anyone created any kind of adapter for the audioroot/remoteaudio smart battery to be used in the internal NP-1 slot of the SL-6? The guy in the video below MacGyvered a solution (@ 09:36), but I was looking something less invasive (or negating a warranty). Thanks!

Not directly... But it is a noted feature of my day rate. If camera department asks me to carry so much as a sharpie in it though, it all gets billed 😉

Ram ProMaster 1500, low roof. I'm 5'8 (on my tippy toes), so the low roof works as I can stand up straight, which is important as I get older. Any taller, and the low roof model wouldn't work. My 6'4" boom op has to stoop alot, but he's young 😁 Pros: square shaped van, so more square footage than many of the others well thought out wiring, holes, etc for customization by the owner...basically, built to be modified need a divider for security and safety...getting the right divider is picky, and not cheap Cons: Only 2 people in the cab, but you can buy a double seat for the passenger so it could seat three, but you have to pay extra ProMasters are light on extras...no cruise control backup camera is waaaay up...you see wide, but not much detail

Has anyone found a configuration for the COSI that can fit a DPA4017b? I currently have the COSI-XL-8060 (long enough for the 8060 + MZ filter). I'd love to be able to just switch out mic plug holders into the same COSI for the 4017b, but I think the 4017 might be one inch too long to pull it off. Looking for experiences and ideas, because I absolutely love my COSI.

Thanks everyone, problem fixed...on the camera, the inputs for timecode are lemo, and can serve multiple purposes. They have to be designated as timecode, but menu item to do this is not in the timecode menu lol.

Hello all - anyone had success feeding timecode into a Z Cam e2 or newer F6, particularly with a Tentacle Sync? The camera guy has the necessary adapter that fits a bnc, but trying different Tentacles with multiple cables (all in perfect working order) hasn't caused the "external" menu item to become active (it stays grey, unchangeable). He has both the e2 and F6, neither are taking external timecode... The only constant here is the adapter he has, which is the leading culprit. But I wanted to hear other's experiences too.

If you want to have something that pulls double duty, consider a wireless video feed like a Hollyland. If the production is monitoring the camera from another screen, you can tap into hdmi or SDI outs and feed yourself video (on your own monitor or WiFi with some models). The range is less, but on small jobs that isn't usually an issue. These are very useful on big jobs too. The SDI/hdmi feed will carry the audio that you are already hopping to the camera, so this return is a confidence feed back to you (I feed it into my last mixer channel from my own little monitor). This also gives audio on any video playback into any comteks/ifbs you've distributed.

My advice will be the opposite to most others...forget about it. Claim all expenses for your taxes against a loss for the amount you are owed, and then move on with your life. "By the time you see a dime, it won't be worth a nickle." This client is never paying you. Ever. Every calorie you spend worrying about it, or stewing, or contacting her, is energy lost on a paying project, one where you applied your tough lesson and used a contract and got money up front. And don't be sucked in by the rest of us who want this producer to be taught a lesson through a court action so we don't get screwed in future: she won't learn it. You aren't here to do the rest of us any favours, you are here to manage your own career. Time is money, and wasting time on a small job you did 7 months ago is throwing good money after bad. Learn the lesson. Apply the lesson. Move on.

I haven't read tonnes of testimonials about the Audioroot e-smart K-art. I'm a big fan of my two audioroot bag distros, and the K-art appeals to me with its monitoring and heavy use of Hirose connections (of which I've invested already). But I'd love to hear more about how it fares after years of use, and how nicely it plays with other brand portable battery options (like the PSC pelican life etc). Thanks!

I've asked many stoopid questions in my day, but this might take the cake... (I plead brain-farts) When using a portable battery box (such as the PSC Pelican Life or the Remote Audio Life), can it be used to power my cart while it is being recharged?

Hello all! I'm experiencing a slight problem with my 1/4" headphone jack on my 688, and was looking for any insight anyone might have. I'm getting a very faint, higher pitched buzz (almost a whine). The volume is very low but noticeable when things are quiet. The volume does not change with the headphone gain... it is constant. It is present regardless of any other items connected to the BDS. Here is the odd part: when I plug into the 1/8" jack right beside it, no problems, no buzz. Different headphone produce the same result. The buzz is only present on the 1/4" jack, and not on the recording itself. Any thoughts? Anyone experienced problems with their head oh one amp on the 688? Cheers and stay safe!

LOL the COSI is stupid light, with a very low profile...if you ever see one in person, your wallet will instantly regret it.

Are you limiting yourself to those mics due to budget? If you don't set a budget parameter, your recommendations will be allover the place. Also, tell us what you are mainly using it for. The 8060 is a great mic. The challenges I've had with it are finding a non-blimp shockmount I'm happy with, that can fit a furry or even just the foam. Without the filter capsule (which isn't cheap), there isn't much mic for the mount to grab on to (the benefit and the challenge rolled into one). I built my own with different lyre strengths to get it right, but in the end I just bit the bullet and put it in a COSI (which I love... it never leaves the COSI). The smaller profile makes it more convenient to the superior sounding (and more expensive Cmit5u...the next step up in quality (and price) would be the miniCmit, and if I had to do it all over again I may have done the mini instead. But I feel that I got the best in the price range I gave myself at the time. I use it outdoors, but often indoors on wide shots.

Is anyone using the Deity DA5 microdot adaptor to connect your DPA lavs with Lectrosonics transmitters? They are half the price of the DPA3056 adaptor, so I'm curious to hear anyone's experience with it (on both newer servo txs and older stuff like the um400). Thanks!

Looking for any experience people have with using their SNA600a dipole antenna to feed wideband receivers or receivers of different (but adjacent) blocks. For example, if I were to have both block 21 and 22 in the bag, what (if any) antenna performance degradation could I expect by adjusting the dipole arm lengths to be roughly center for the combined blocks. cheers!

Not enough of dynamic range of situations yet to be able to make definitive statements. So far, in terms of range on my SRbs (with SMQV txs), about halfway between my SNA600a dipoles and the little whips. Most valuable to me is just have a portable solution but getting those antenna out of the inside of the bag, which reaps all sorts of consistency benefits when using SRbs in switch mode. I like that the bowties came not only with really good mounting clamps, but quality BNC-BNC and BNC-SMA cables.
