  1. The Daltech is, far and away, the most common announce box I see in the field. Reliable and built like a brick outhouse. HBO Boxing went from those to the Studio Tech 233's for a bit (their lead A2 hated them), but have since switched to the Lance Design ADX-120's. It's an interesting system that uses Cobranet (audio over standard TCP/IP) with dedicated hardware to address the needs (Local comms and IFB power, etc) of the broadcast market. A fiber connected network switch is used to link the system back to the truck outside. Riedel also has a great panel, but as the majority of the major OB trucks here use RTS systems instead of Artist, it doesn't offer much of an advantage.
  2. So all I need to do now is mount a sheet of plexi under the boom with one of these on it and I can tune out everything except the talent. Sweet.

  4. I read (might have been here somewhere) that an option would be to put the Tx and Rx in Sennheiser compatibility mode and they would play nice together, though you would lose battery telemetry.
  5. What's the gain on that puppy and will it work with a Bias T?
  6. Good movie. Definitely one of the loudest I've been to in a while.. The 'ramp to silence' effect works well for putting you in the moment. I'm also not hugely a fan of gimmicky 3D films, but I watched it in IMAX 3D and have no complaints.
  7. Crestron is a closed system, meaning you need a Crestron Certified Programmer ($$$) to make any modification to the system. This is not to say you couldn't do it yourself if you have and know the software, but don't expect any assistance from Crestron.
  8. It depends, contact the manufacturer, read the manual, usual suspects, in my day.. Just thought I'd get that out of the way early on. Looking forward to Larry and/or Glenn's take on the subject as well.

  12. For the price, the RNC is hard to beat. It would probably be easy enough to build a voltage divider to knock 12v down to the 9v it wants to see.

  14. There's a reason McCoy hated that thing.
