  1. Eric, are you sure about this? I found this: "All users of wireless microphones may operate the equipment on an unlicensed basis, subject to certain restrictions: the device (1) must not be operated at a power level in excess of 50 milliwatts, (2) may not cause harmful interference, and (3) must be operated in a way that accepts any interference that may be received. For most users – such as theaters, churches, schools, conference centers, theme parks and musicians – the use of this device is unlicensed." Here
  2. Sometimes it seems they're just trying too hard to be the Bang & Olufsen of computers.
  3. Are you ordering from their website? I get stuff from them all the time online and have never had a problem. Always shows up incredibly fast as well.
  4. I've used this one a few times: http://www.skydreams.tv/SkyDreams.TV/FiberAnt.html Works great.
  5. Been running 12 Tx in 19, 12 Tx in 26 and 8 zax hops in 24 for a few years, no probs. YMMV
  6. The difference between helping your Uncle, Jack, off a horse or helping your uncle jack off a horse.
  7. It must be tortuous having to mete out those extra 4 or 5 mouse clicks from the confines of an air conditioned studio. I don't run my mixes right up to the top, but I tend to kind of live around 3/4 scale depending on the material. With respect to gain, I'd generally rather pad, than add. Low cut usually 80 or below, again dependent on material. Don't use low pass filters, though it always seems like wardrobe wants me to use theirs..
  8. Time to load one up in the spud gun, keys awaiting?
  9. That thing is beautiful! Very nice work.
  10. HTML formatting tags. The br tag is used to insert a line break. Usually if you see them, it means the poster used them wrong.
  11. For those of you in the LA area who might like to check out some killer musicians, The Bombastic Meatbats will be playing @ the Baked Potato in Studio City on April 16th. Shameless plug for a couple old friends, tho one will be out that night due to brain surgery. There's a bass player joke in there somewhere...
  12. Dave Jones (from EEVBlog) did a great sub $50 meter shootout a while back And a sub $100 meter shootout a bit later:
  13. I love my JH16's. I use them for bag work occasionally when it's just to hot for headphones. Where they really shine is with an iPod on a plane. Goodbye crunchy, overmodulated flight attendant announcements and wailing kids.
  14. George Martin did have a neat little trick of playing a note on a piano to offset an off pitch vocal, then mixing it in ever so slightly underneath to fool your ear into hearing the sung note in tune.
