FYI, I bought 4 different types. All the recommended cables here, and for our intents and purposes we will not hear a difference. The best cable is the thinnest and softest, but still strong. I suggest making two cables from different types of cable and having options. Once you get started it’s almost easier to make 3 cables than just one. Most pro pro audio cables provide some sort of RFI rejection. Just do not buy speaker wire from the hardware store. Cheers D

I deal with this conversation regularly on the job. Redundant. Solder will add resistance to the signal path. If you need extra strength, use additional strain relief ( heat shrink tubing). Also, be very careful when stripping the cable. Make certain not to disturb the insulation jacket, the direction the wires are turning needs to be kept the same. Clean with %100 alcohol and scrub with a clean flux brush, wear gloves, measure twice and don't use any tools without a perfect sharp edge. More... When the flux is heated it removes surface oxidation from the metal being soldered, allowing the solder to flow correctly on the material as well as forming a good mechanical and electrical connection to the base metal. Residual oxidation on the metal being soldered leads to poor quality connections and lower mechanical strength in the joint.

A slightly elevated notch or bump in the higher frequencies to make it more pronounced. Not sure what this is. MacBookPro speakers gritty, or 70's analog tape gritty. The punch stays the same dependent on the mic being used properly and placed correctly. What changes is what is rejected. Your describing the microphones inability to reject off axis out of phase information. As @Constantin has mentioned, the best way to achieve this is to properly acoustically treat the room. Reducing unwanted out of phase information from creating second and third reflections that arrive back the the microphone out of phase. Kinda also saying the same thing, as in out of phase would be off axis of the microphone diaphragm.

Understandable. It's a hard no. Your attempting to alter the pickup pattern of a specific design. I equate this to an adhesive stick on hood scoop on an automobile. It might look like turbo, but it's not. You have to change the engine to change performance, or pony up for custom fabrication. A Ford mustang will never be a 4x4, and vice versa.

That's an incorrect statement. I know this stuff's tricky, so I am not criticizing. The closer you get to the source, the more you reduce the level of refections coming from the room ( or tone). The further from the source, the more prevalent the reflections will become. It's Physics. Remember, Sound puts the "Fun" in "Physics". And, Please feel free to PM or ask more questions.
