  1. I use FreqFinder app made by @NewEndian on iOS in addition to the RFExplorer. I like the Freqfinder app because it saves location freqs in a list and shows intermod hits.
  2. Maybe you could PA a couple gigs to get you in the door. Once inside that door you might say hey to the sound department. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of that region will chime in. Best of luck and don’t give up!
  3. Velour MDR-7506 replacement ear pads BH only $14 Bring those babies back to life!
  4. Just curious, how/why are the files from the Atomos Ninja being used in Post? Nevermind, found it. Enables ProRes Raw capture with smaller, more cost-effective, mirrorless cameras
  5. I stumbled across these videos on youtube some time ago. They are the best I have seen. "If you go to page 3 of your NASA handbook". Lol.
  6. Try to find some that doesn’t say “ non toxic”. The toxic makes it flow easier and shine. Just wear gloves! I have a couple different brands of solder. The really good stuff is no longer available. Use a wick, flux and 99% alcohol. Do you have a magnifying glass with alligator clips for arms? Take pics. You can crank up the heat just don’t melt the xlr pin loose from the insert. Less solder is more. More solder doesn’t make it better, solder only holds the wire.
  7. When I go to the car mechanic the first thing I always ask is how can I do this job myself? Then I ask where he buys his auto parts and if I can have his same discount. Finally I ask him how to do how to do something he has mastered over years by blood sweat and tears. Funny, he never has a nice answer.
  8. DJI drones go 6 miles on 2.4Ghz. I have no clue how they did it. I have gone about 2 miles out, feels like it shouldn't work but it does. It can only be a matter of time before this trickles down to Wireless audio.
  9. Oooooooh. No wonder it wouldn't come off! I thought it had to come off too! I just found this!
  10. Welcome! Shure Webinar: Best Practice for Wireless Antenna Set Up Check out 31:00, they explain it allot better than I could. They entire video is very informative and will give you insight into what to do and why.
  11. Hey all, Is anyone using a Yamaha QL1 for production audio recording? Do you use one in a studio setting? I don't feel like I'm getting the full potential out of this thing. I have specific questions but want to get general input on if anyone uses it and if they like it. Thanks everyone!
  12. Hey Mark, I want a bowl of m&m's with no blue one's. If I see one blue m&m then the deal is off. I will work for one day, but I want two days paid lunch's. I will sign away my life for an iPhone so I want you to throw in a free iPhone. I want 10 individual $1 shares and that is non negotiable. Miss you buddy... I will PM you.
  13. Is this real or just a joke? Asking for a friend...
  14. I go filter with paper mask over. I got a I'm double filtered in, and single filtered out. I've gotten then thumbs down wearing gator cloth mask's from production and the explanation was the nanometer of the virus particle is smaller than the woven cloth width. Made sense and I silently agreed. @PMC🤣
  15. We tend to eat our own around here Alex. Most disrespectful or hurtful comment's come from a place of respect and wanting to help. I like to think of it like Bee's protecting the honey that they love. If you get stung once or twice, don't give up.
  16. It falls on you as the DP to stand up for your co-worker/business associates. I've never heard a sound guy say " oh I just need to put this camera on sticks and we're rolling!". You will never hear me say "we don't need a DP, I can get usable footage". It's all about we not about me. I know how to use lenses, what focal length, shutter speed, ISO, color temp, you name it. I get asked frequently to use the camera and decline because I know someone wants that job way more than I do. I would be taking their position and pay from them while doing a poor job at the same time. I know this benefits the budget to make one person do two peoples work but cost's the sound mixer their wages and diminishes the final product. Let me put it this way, if your capable of delivering professional quality sound and being paid a reasonable rate for both your camera work and your sound work, then have at it. I strongly don't think that exist's and your being paid the same or slightly more to do more work and keep someone from working. Especially now, we all need to share work and there is more than enough for everyone. All these restaurant's where the Cook is the Maitré D, Bus boy, Waiter, Sommelier, Sous Chef? All those restaurants trying to be the real thing, but the real thing, is the real thing. P.S. Can anyone find that YT video about the guy going to diner and negotiating like a producer/DP with the waiter?
  17. I wrote way of topic. So I will start a new thread.
  18. I wish 2020 would pass away. I'm all out of tears. I met him in Vegas a few years back. I had no concept of his achievements. I could tell he was a big deal, he was very polite and cool with me. Eric posted a comment in one of my threads and I noticed immediately.
  19. Oh wow. You gotta see it to believe.
  20. Please let me know if you need help with cable management/fabrication.
  21. Shure probably won't make an RX that fits in a bag in this decade. Yes the Axient stuff sounds excellent but still has a 3MS delay. The delay is in the AD>DA. From what I was told, this wasn't enough of an issue with the current consumers. Shure still always has a place in my kit. Syncing the frequencies between the rack RX and the TX's on the Shure Axient system is a dream... Funny how they used the Shure UR5 RX chassis for all Axient RX's. My next investment will be a Sony wireless system. Same here, but with MAHA's.
