  1. I'm on a documentary right now and I have been having issues with doing interviews in loud environments (I'm on a boat) I like ambience, but sometimes it's been overwhelmingly loud, depending where the director/editor wants to shoot. He says not to worry, he uses noise reduction software that makes everything sound like a podcast (SM7b) and I died inside.
  2. The first generation had some issues with breakage. I've been using the same 4 antennas on my Wisycom receivers since the fall of 2020. The first generation had some issues with breakage. I've been using the same 4 antennas on my Wisycom receivers since the fall of 2020.
  3. How close was the transmitter to the receivers? Anything within 10-15 feet should be disregarded, if you were holding the Tx next to your bag, definitely ignore. I assume you have properly coordinated frequencies?
  4. I have HiQ batteries (Remote Audio) and Audioroot chargers. I'm just over a year in, and everything is holding up really well. I don't think you would see a noticable difference in runtime between the brands (unless you get the 1/2 sized battery)
  5. Hey Scott No problem! Keep in mind, I added a threaded insert for the set screw. If he isn't sure how to do that, I can help (or watch some youtube videos) it is easy and a great skill to have. JP boom xlr holder-Body.stl
  6. Try this https://www.lectrosonics.com/wireless-faq/general-questions/the-battery-door-on-my-ucr-receiver-is-loose-how-can-i-tighten-it-without-taking-the-receiver-apart.html?highlight=WyJ1Y3I0MTFhIiwidWNyNDExYSdzIiwieGxyIl0=
  7. I thought you 750-850 guys were nuts, til I realized you're talking F. 😂
  8. Follow the instructions they sent and you'll be ok. That being said, COS-11 can be very tricky to solder (tiny wires, kevlar fibres etc)
  9. It's probably fine for a budget clock, but if memory serves me, they didn't natively do 23.98. But, I believe they could be converted. The Gr-2 is probably a better value, especially if you want to resell it, also, Trew has a couple ACC 501 on their consignment page.
  10. I recently started playing around with 3D printing, it's a useful hobby/tool. I don't need a custom XLR clamp, but it's nice to be able to make one 😂
  11. I would start by switching all antennas to whips, see if that's any better. It's possible that one or more of the RF cables are in bad condition. I've also seen a "bad" video cable (BNC) spray stray RF into the air and ruin the airwaves in general. Check any cables attached to the camera(s)
  12. Theoretically, an "antenna farm" could reduce performance, but 8 antennas on 4 dual Rx in a bag shouldn't be a problem if your frequencies are coordinated and nothing in the bag is de-sensing the Rx antennas. I do it every day.
  13. Rule #1 is have at least 50mhz of separation between hops and bag Rx. Rule #2 get hop tx away from Rx. Rule #3 use Rx with a "tight" front end filter (411!) I think a 3db attenuator would effectively cut the power in half, but now you have an awkward tx antenna situation that could easily result in a broken SMA connector.
  14. I recently switched to Rycote PCS from SGS. Very happy so far, no issues.
