  1. I'm hoping that means she needs to get it steamed pressed and can go out informally the next few days.
  2. Following sound devices cue and making face shields?
  3. I should have clarified, I meant the whole rig. Not the individual pieces of equipment. I've seen some people who have cases or such that they just slap on the cart and lock it down, so I was wondering if that's what you were doing.
  4. Does this live on your cart at all times? Or can you remove it easily for transport and then put it back on when you get to location?
  5. Are you using an adapter that slides into the slot then gives you a threaded hole to screw the drawers and everything into? I saw 8020 has something like that, gives you some standard screw mounting points. I really like your cart as well Constantin, has a few features I might implement into my own.
  6. Good to know, they do have a lot of options for panels, hard to pick which one is best. Really loving their design software, easy to see how much it weighs/cost as the creativity flows...easy to see when to dial it back some haha. That's exactly what I mean! Appreciate the insight into how you had to build them, going to be checking that method out for sure.
  7. Maytec's website isn't the best by any means, but their free CAD software is pretty awesome. Can't find any information as to what type of weight their panels can take, i.e. to use a shelf. Wondering what people use in their t-slot builds as shelves and the like.
  8. With nothing but time on my hands these days (hence resurrecting an old thread) doing a lot of research on things, did a deep dive into carts and really like yours! I was curious how you attached the wheels to this cart?
  9. I actually tried having someone lined up I could pass the gig off too if they both panned out. Heard back from the original producer yesterday, their shoot has been canceled. Definitely going to be more diligent about following up with people and making sure I get the words “booked” or something along the lines in writing to confirm the shoot. I’m glad the consensus is to take whatever’s firm though, will alleviate some stress on my end the rest of my life, also helps me get away from flaky producers who constantly are playing around with the whole “well we should be shooting that day, but we just need to confirm on thing” or what have you. Now im just hoping the second job actually pans out and I have some work that weekend.
  10. The screw on mine is just a small flathead screw. Its on the outside also, so shouldn't need to open anything up to get to it
  11. As a youngish mixer who is still comping at the bit to get as much work as I can I was curious what some of you all do in regards to double booking yourself? I had someone reach out to me in January to do some work in March, after I confirmed my availability and asked for the sides for the day (which he offered originally if I wanted them) I haven't heard from him. I emailed him back recently to try and confirm the dates since its coming up in a few weeks but still haven't heard anything. Now I have the opportunity for something else the same weekend (thats actually more work at a higher rate). Just trying to figure out how to best negotiate these waters without bailing on the original job but also making sure I have some work that weekend.
  12. I have a 416 that rattles sometimes, there a screw on the back toward the xor connector that I've found comes a little loose sometimes and needs tightening (I believe it holds the xlr connector on). Once tight rattle goes away.
  13. To go along with the Sony here has anyone tried the "new" Sony URX-S03D? Their two channel slot receiver? Just stumbled upon it recently, looks interesting and at a pretty good price point.
  14. So along these lines but slightly different, I was curious what you all did when it's taken an extended period to get paid? I'm talking much longer than you thought.... I was hired by a local DP for a documentary shoot, that had some big name athletes involved. Went up did the one day shoot and turned in my invoice to the producer (who the DP has worked with before), even got my buddy on as the gaffer. It's now been 3 months and nothing, no one has been paid. Reached out to the DP to see if he has been paid yet and he hasn't. Reached out to the producer multiple times now and she keeps telling me she's sick, or bedridden or whatever and will get it out next week. The DP reached out last week again and she told him that it will get paid out this week, but as of yesterday was still being vague about it. I briefly spoke to another mixer I've worked with and he suggested giving her a timeline to pay then filing for small claims, which is the route we (the gaffer and I) are about to take if this doesn't get resolved ASAP. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this and what they did about it.
  15. My question is would you spend more on the mixer than on the recorder? No word on pricing yet but he CL-16 I bet is going to be north of $4K. What’s so wrong with using a 3rd party mixer anyway? If you really needed to put it on a cart and mix that way.
  16. If you check out the Want to Buy- Want to Sell page here there are currently some pretty good deals on some Lectro's, could be a good starting point to upgrade (saw some 200's that were within your budget).
  17. Bit random, but I was curious if there are any mixer's who work in Denmark on these forums? I have a few questions for you if there are.
  18. I've been on a lot of sets recently where we are recording the leads holding babies, was curious if anyone else has experience with this and had any advice for how to mic them? About half the time the baby is silent so thats not so much my issue, its more the baby covering the mic, making them sound muffled or the baby grabbing their shirt and rustling the mic. I'm thinking about trying to find a new place to mic our actors when this happens but haven't figured out the best spot/place.
  19. Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm going to reach out to Plus 24 and see if they have an answer for me. Otherwise I'll probably cancel and try with one of the "Usual Suspects." Who I also do my best to spread the love to. The main reason I went with B&H here was that they included the accessory package for the same price as just the mic, saving about $40. Which in the grand scheme isn't a lot of money but when you have a tight budget and are ordering multiple it can add up quickly.
  20. About 6 weeks ago I ordered a Sanken COS 11-D from B&H and still haven't received it. I reached out to them and they said they would check with the distributor Plus 24 who drop ships them directly to the customer. Upon hearing back B&H said they have no timeframe as to when they will be shipping it out as Plus 24 was unable to give them a date. Now this is the second one I ordered form B&H in a two week span, this one was wired for a Lectro SSM, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. The first one I ordered was shipped out in 7-10 days as expected and got to me with no issues. They offered to cancel the order if I would like but I really need the mic and was curious since Plus 24 is the only distributor in the US if this would be an issue anywhere I purchased it? Or if other companies actually keep them in stock and could ship one out to me directly. I'm really just curious if anyone else has had a problem like this? I was thinking about reaching out directly to Plus 24 but wasn't sure if they would be helpful or not since I bought it through a third party vendor.
  21. Been using the Tentacle Sync E for a little while now, recently updated the firmware and came across a weird issue with it and was wondering if anyone else suffered from this (or had a solution). At the start of the day I got to Jam TC from our Zoom F8 to the Tentacle Sync E, goes from red mode to green mode, all looks good. When viewing the app before I click on the specific Tentacle the TC is synced between the two devices. However, when I go to click the Tentacle (to get into the menu to change settings, etc.) now the TC is roughly 1 sec ahead of the mixer. I switch over the Timebar App (which Tentacle says is accurate) and it again appears to be synced. Going back to the Tentacle app, same thing, before you click the specific Tentacle they appear to be synced but when clicking on it, it goes to 1sec off. Hopefully you all can follow that logic. I've tried resetting it and resyncing but the same thing happens. I wasn't sure what else to do, as this has happened a few times now over the past month or so, well really every time I've used it the past two months I would say. It even happened before the firmware update, so I was hoping that would fix it but it did not.

    Boom Op Kits

Been doing some research and was wondering what people use when being a boom op (or give to their boom ops). Been talking with mine recently and we are trying to figure out how to make his kit better and more useful. Right now he just has a little pouch that we put some spare batteries and moleskin in so he can quickly fix loose lavs or replace a battery. Any input here would be much appreciated.
  23. You are correct, I misspoke there.
  24. Not sure if this is too picky or anything, but looking at the specs of the LTD compared to Zaxcom (ZMT3 specifically) gets about 4Khz more of dynamic range. According to the specs the A10 transmits 40-20Khz and the ZMT3 goes to 16Khz. I tried to find information on other versions of the Zaxcom transmitters and Lectrosonics but couldn't find anything on them.
  25. I'm curious what you used as your base here, I searched the magliner website and couldn't find anything that allowed front casters like you have.
