  1. Finally I found my Headphones to go.

    The BEYERDYNAMIC STUDIO CUSTOM PRO.

I tried a few cans from cheap to expensive.

I dont Unserstand why so many uses the SONY 7506. They are so harsh in the highs that it hurt my ears.

Ive also tried the Neumann NDH 20. They costs 499€ and are high end. I didnt Likes them either. I missed some clear brightness.

The BEYERDYNAMIC CUSTOM STUDIO PRO surprised me.
They are very detailed and very confortable to work all das long.
They are perfekt fore for speech. Also they are great for music. The Bass response (which you can change via the switches in the phones) is awesome for me. I find it tight and clear. Also the seperation of Instruments is clear and I found them 3D sounding. I Like rhe spatial seperation very much.

And the best thing, they were in Sale for 109€.

They come with velour pads. But dfor more noise canceling I pimped them with thick leather pads. These you can find in eBay or Ali Express.

They add a little bit to the low frequencies but isolte more. Also they are really confortable also when its warm.

I recommend these headphones very much.

Unless you have the remote audio 216 kit you can’t use the lectro SNA antenna with comteks. Wrong frequency range. Just use 2 comtek antennas. That’s what I do and I assume what others do as well.

The transmitters are no Comteks. Just called them Comtek because everybody knows what Comteks are for. In German you say - Mithöre - (translated = listen to)

My transmitter is a Sennheiser SK 300 in the band at 600 mHz. And it works fine with the Lectro Dipol.

I tried to send them trough to splitter. As Larry mentioned,  the range is less, as with two seperate antennas.

  3. Hello everybody.

I want to send to Comtek lines. One for my boom op and the other for the rest of the crew.

Idea one: I use two seperate antennas (Lectrosonics  SMA600)  for each line.

Idea two: I combine both antenna signals into one antenna splitter (Sennheiser ASP212 passive) and send the signal out via one antenna. This idea is my prefered one. Less clutter with cables. But do the two signals alter each other when sent through one antenna?

How do you do it? And recommendations and experiences?

the weight is something you may need to get used to, although I feel that number is a bit exaggerated. It doesn‘t feel that heavy on my head. The ear pads are filled with gel, but in all these years I haven’t had a single leakage.

Now, I absolutely adore the Neumann NDH20. I love their sound, I love how they feel, I love how they sit on my head, the quality they ooze out of every component and I also love their sound. A lot.
But they are not high noise isolating headphones. They are maybe about on a level in this regard with the HD25‘s. So you wouldn’t gain much, so to speak...

I found the weight on the B&H site.

  5. I am concerned about the weight of the  HN-7506.  The specs say that they weight 1,36 Kg. And I read that the ear pads are filled with fluid gel, which can leak.

I found two other interesting headphones

    Beyerdynamic DT770M

    Neumann NDH20

    Any experiences with these?

  6. Hi Folks,

I am using the Sennheiser HD-25 for more than 7 years. I like them a lot and for me they are indestructable. But now I am looking for headphones with high noise isolation from the outside.

I have heared from the Remote Audio HN-7506.

Are there any others that are recommendable?

  7. No risk no fun no chance to discorver somerhing new. I read a discussion about the B9 stereo mics and the user only said good things about it. Also I found some examples where the high end audio community uses the stereomics to record their high end systems.(little bit strange to listen to a recorded hifi system). Also the use of sound devices and cantar convinced me of the serouisity of the company.

Long story short, I ordered the CM150F and I report back.

  8. Hi,

there is this Taiwan based mic manufacturer www.b9audio.com

I am interested in the Super Cardiod mic CM150 which is available in three different versions.

It´s difficult to find informations about them, because the ones I found are in Taiwanese.

On Youtube there are some videos. A demonstration of the CM170 and the CM150 can be found. All the others are used for classical recordings.

I assume, that the mics have to be more than good, when used for classiscal recordings, because normally these people are super picky about what gear they choose.

    Nice bag Attila!!

It looks like you have approx. 3 cm left under the 633. I wonder, if the OR-30 would be a good match to a Sound Devices 833 with two medium NPF (770) on the back?? It would add about 5-6 cm compared to the 633, but i don´t want the Recorder to stick out of the bag too much...

Does anybody has experience with the depth of the 833 with NPF´s added on the back?

Does anybody know if they will bring out a special bag for the 833?

Or should i get the Stingray Small instead??

    What do you think...?

    Thanks everybody. Best, Tim.

Under the 633 there are aprox. 2 cm left.

I ordered a 833 and I tell you if it fits when it´s here...

  10. Hi,

maybe some folks from Hungaria are on this board and can help me with a company from Budapest called - UltraViola Audio - https://ultraviola.eu

If it is thrustworthy or not?

They have good prices and I would like to order there. I have explored their homepage. Everything seem professional and all the products  are the usual suspects.

The imprint also looks good. I checked the VAT number and the registration number and both are fine.

    Any opinions?

Nice wireless for the talent! Which makes me wonder why you're using a 201 for your boom?

I'd love to read a review of both of these! Wonder if I should get those myself

Whoa, hefty battery for a 633 kit! Or are you using one of those lightweight mini V Mount batteries?

I´ve got the 201 block 24 for a long time and it never let me down and it´s my trusty old friend. (But when I have some extra cash I upgrade)

I am using the Betagear Stuff for nearly one year. The antenna distribution looks same the the PSC one and is well build and I costs around 350€. The sharks (90€ for two!)  are a little bit taller than the usual suspects but working great. They look very similar to the shure UA874 besides the paddle is different.

With the antenna distribution and the sharks I have a really great range and no dropouts.

When I ordered them I was sceptical, but I was to courious too! There´s a lot of crap on Alix Express, but a few things are great. Also great art the Leicozic Receivers for the clients. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32750422632.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.5e5d42a6WqzFzQ&algo_pvid=631508f9-2007-42d8-9932-81b74afcd8c2&algo_expid=631508f9-2007-42d8-9932-81b74afcd8c2-14&btsid=0b0a187915821902379692581ebf01&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

Well build and sounding good for 50€. I use the together with my Sennheiser SK300 (SNA antenna modified)

I also can recommend al kind of cables and SNA antennes there. The prizes are good. I buying pro stuff and I am willing to spend money. But cables and antennas are definitifly way too expensive.

My VMOUNT is the AXCOM U-SVLO-99-UD.

It´s half the size of fat one. Two of these power the whole bag for one day. I decided for V-Mount because normally the camera department has them too. For emergency situations I can use their chargers or their batteries.

  12. Hi Folks. This is my bag mainly for commercials, documentary and interviews. But I also done a TV series on a cart and with sharks.

    1 x Sound Devices 633

    2 x Wisycom MCR 42S

1 x Lectrosonics UCR 201 for Boom (modified with SNA connectors for external antennas)

2 x Lectrosonics SNA600 (just stuck inside the spaces of the bag. I tried different things, but this is the easiest way and it´s fast removable)

    1 x Powerdistribution from www.ops-shop.de

1 x Betagear Antenna Distribution (it´s from Ali Express and works fine with the Betagear Shark antennas! )

1 x Sennheiser SK300 G3 for boom op or customers

    1 x Lectrosonics UM110 for camera feed

    1 x VMount battery

    1 x Orca Bags OR-30

Inspired by Jonathan Lalouz, I decided to try out the Condor bags for a smaller setup. Here you can see the 633, with a Soundbags Dashboard, two SRs, and an AudioRoot distro. In the pocket to the left is my Comtek Tx, in the pocket to the right is a G3 that I’m temporarily using as a hop, and in the front pouch is my eSmart battery. There really isn’t a lot of room for anything else. I had to have all my cables custom made for low profile harnesses.

I really like this setup, and it does what it needs to for about 80-90% of my bag work. I have an V2 Dashboard, I understand that the V3’s are lighter than these. This setup puts the weight in one place as opposed to dispersing it throughout a larger bag, so it feels heavier when lifted by hand, but can easily be worn with just a strap without killing your shoulders/back. It is also so compact that it can fit into just about any kind of standard sized case.

As nice and small as this is, I like what @RadoStefanov is doing with the same bag for his Nova OneUnit.

Which model is the Condor Bag?

I briefly tried the Orca at NAB and own the K-Tek. The Orca was maybe a tiny bit more supportive than the K-Tek but it's tough to say for sure. They're both great in that department. The K-Tek wins hands down in my book for usability though, because the Orca sticks out from your back at the bottom, which would make it really impractical to sit down in and especially difficult to get in and out of cars with it on.

That´s a good point. When I have my harness on, I don´t want to take it down when not nescessary.

  15. ORCA Bags now has the OR-444 ORCA 3S (SPINAL SUPPORT SYSTEM) SOUND HARNESS.

Until now, there was only one similiar concept by K-Tek the KSHRN3.

I am looking forward for a new harness that helps my back and shoulders.

I really like the concept of being modular and using just parts of the harness for quick situations.

Does someone already tried or is using it? Maybe compared to the K-Tek?

  16. Here is my attempt for mounting two SNA600s in my ORCA OR-30 bag.

For me it´s important to keep my bag as light as possible (it´s heavy enough) so I unmounted the black heavy blocks from the antenna and put some 3M dual lock on it and attached it to a hardplastic piece from the hardware store. For prevent the plastic to move around some normal velcro is attached on the upside. When the sides are closed it locks the holders in position.
