If you're in Australia, what was the ball park cost on the frame components (not the wheels or Chinhda bits) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Movies about sound or field recording (nature/ambience)

It would have been better without the background music. -
If you have access to GearSlutz get in tough with BwanaJim. He does a lot of recording in Cuba. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How are you getting the LEDs to show red when recording? Are you doing that manually or have you got some neat trick in there??

I've used one of their devices when outback travelling. It's pretty good. But for the Spot trackers size, you may as well repurpose an old iPhone. Track it with 'Find my phone' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've suggested thing to them with Wave Editor (Now Triumph) and Triumph and they're very responsive to ideas. One of the reasons I like smaller companies. And although I have Myriad too, I still use Sample Manager for a few quick things. Regards John

What OS are you on? If Apple, then get Myriad from Audiofile Engineering. All the audio batch functions you could need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mogami is probably the nicest cable to solder, roll and lay flat when unrolled that I've used. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting idea. Have you ever had difficulty putting your seat belt on when parked on a steep slope? The little inertia thingy sometimes locks on when on a steep angle. I wonder how you'd get around that if these drawer level type latches did the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm currently designing the innards of a Pelican iM3075. It's a very large case and I'm trying to figure out a way to use the lid cavity to store my rolled cables (when using the case vertically). If you have something in mind for your design for cable handling, spit it out.......

No, I mean when you tilt the cart backwards to wheel it somewhere. If you don't secure the drawers, they'll slide open.

What happens when you tilt it backward to move it, if you've not secured all of the drawers???

You never posted the promised pictures

I think it was on JWSound that someone posted a youtube video I'm trying to find. Searching here or youtube has not been succesful It was of a conductor walking onto stage, at the start of an orchestral concert, and tripping over the tall mic stand. The stand then fell over into the audience where a person jumped up and caught it. I think the comments were in relation to the high airflow and ribbon mic damage. Does any one here remember this? Harmful to leave phantom power on through power cycling?
JackHenry replied to dschreiberjr's topic in Equipment
The 'faulty' reference is in general, but in particular to the comment above regarding faulty cables. It will make no difference if on when connected, or on after connection. -

If the equipment or cable is faulty (as mentioned above) then I can see no difference in leaving P48 on while you connect cables OR turning it on AFTER you connect cables. The faulty equipment will still react the same way in either case. -
You'll probably get a better result to your query over on GearSlutz in the Remote Possibilities in Acoustic Music & Location Recording I'm not saying that the answers you are geting are incorrect, but this is the 'bread and butter' on the Remote Possibilities forum

But that ring is a lot thicker than the Ambient device (I use them for colour coding). So wouldn't removing the ring leave it a bit 'floppy'.
