  1. I ordered them together with the reciever, I can report once I get my hands on them. With how long wait many experienced for mcr54 last year I can imagine it will take a few months, but I am patient. Think the rumor has it that the new app, pha60 and the transmitter will be rolled out in the end of January, but I dont count on it.
  2. Great finds everyone, the IL19 looks like an interesting idea, but in case it works, you would need a bunch of them if you have multiple recievers. To expand on the wavreport DIY idea. I am tempted to see if this already made solution would work for us: http://www.audioroot.fr/product/gle-12w/
  3. Heya! I have a similair issue (with the Leicozic clone of the PSC splitter). I thought it was just since it was a cheap copy and maybe poorly designed. I was running the modded G3 recievers on their own battery and the hum only appeared when the mixpre 10 and distro shared the same battery or ground. So everything worked fine when on a separate battery as you say. To add to the troubleshoot, I can mention that I also had a UCR411A that worked fine when it was on the same battery as the distro, but the hum appeared when its antennaports were connected to the distro, but used the battery shared with the mixpre. Was a while since I did any testing, but I think ut is some sort of unfortunate combination of the distro and mixpre10t. I am not super knowledgeable, but maybe something Iike this could help us somehow? https://wavreport.com/2018/06/15/zaxnet-pre-amp-whine-rf-issues-solutions/amp/
  4. I would certainly feel this way if I had a 833. I am a happy user of a mixpre10t and have considered 833 from time to time, but availible Isos have been about the same and the energy consumption a lot more. Sure, there are a lot more to it, but from my understanding the FPGAs are a big reason for the extra energy consumption, and if users then have to pay to take full use of it from what can be seen as "updates" ie more isos (not speaking of upgrades such as cedar) it certainly feels a bit odd. Makes you look at other brands that increases the value proposition by including more isos and features etc in the fw updates. But hey, also it seems like 90% really praise this possibility - so we might be in minority.
  5. You could potentially use a TRX as RX (similair size as a G3), and since they struck an agreement with Zax, you can record and transmit at the same time. Maybe as Dave was onto, it is more an issue of security than equipment. I am sure a wisy bundle is great, not sure what gear you run normally, but it would indeed be quite hefty to let go off and not that different from some peoples primary tools.
  6. Wasn't there a thread with someone else that had similair thoughts and was trying to source old sennys? Like the old ek3000 series diversity recievers paired with compatible transmitters can sometimes be very good bang for the buck for a no thrills system whilst still sounding good. (Lacking built in scanner and depending on the exact units may not be very wideband). But as someone mentioned earlier, even cheap options aren't particularly cheap. How many channels do you need? Maybe if you default to use the cards with TC sync you could maybe use deity TRX (threat them as body recorders with potential to listen in, but don't count on them to work flawlessly as wireless units in a busy city, but some monitoring may be better than none) That said, I hope you and your crew can operate in a way that feels less threatening. Seems all in all like there has been more violence towards journalists around the globe the last 1.5 or so years.
  7. If that is true, its very impressive indeed That seems logical at some point no? Either that or the rumored np50 style TX. Question is how long it will take. For tax purposes I really wish for a bundle price with 4 of MTP60 and a MCR54 before years end.
  8. The batterytime is listed as 10h at 10mw with alkaline. Its probably my only minor gripe with this.
  9. Looks like the phantom power will be with an additional accessory, a la pha48 style I guess?
  10. Looks very interesting. Seems to tick most of the boxes of the rumours. Multiband was a new one for me, certainly very interesting for people doing doc work. Was expecting a smaller form factor, but can only imagine that this is the first of a range. Didnt mention anything about 48v, so from the rumors, they might have dropped that feuture on this particulair model?
  11. For the ones using schoeps boundary. Do you use 1 for each actor or just 1 in-between them. I have used it in conjunction with others, but just 1 of them in the roof. But most of the time just 4060 in the visors as its quick to deploy. Not everyone is happy to use some strong tape on the car interior for the schoeps boundary to stay (also the cable can be a bit tricky to hide depending on what the camera is seeing).
  12. Then MkH30 may be the way to go as something tried and tested, also another exotic contendant: Nevaton MC59 with fig8 capsule if you can get your hands on one for a reasonable price. Reportedly only have 8db of A weighted selfnoise.
  13. The CCM41 seems to do a good job, surprised how well the small DPA gosenecks held up as well when driving. Normally I just use 4060s (since that Is what I have), so was good to have the 4063 as a reference.
  14. Interesting, thank you for sharing! Will have a listen. I have heard people complain about high noise floor on the 4097/98 with the older Zax transmitters, do you feel a difference between the ZMT3 and 4?
  15. Did you switch to the Schoeps side addressed, or just other Schoeps mics? Thought the noise was about the same for Schoeps and ATE208, with the favor of the built in HP on the ATE208. I have done similar things with good results, the only downside I have to say of the emesser is that by nature of being a side addressed mic, it is rather sensitive to handling noise despite the low frequency roll off. For me, size and weight is of concern if its something meant for the top of a boompole. The emesser fits here nicely, but I do imagine MKH30 is in another class (compared to 208 at least) when it comes to be "noisefree" (almost 3 times the weight). Would love to hear a 308 side by side to the 208. Not sure the specs are updated on Ambients homepage, they are listed the same as for 208 and 308 currently apart from the LF rolloff.
  16. Really? I am quite happy with my 208 tbh. Sure, its not the quitest mic, but do isnt the CS3e or the schoeps either. Would love to have a listen to the 308, but the weight and footprint of the 208 is already really nice.
  17. No, but it looks interesting. Thank you for posting about it.
  18. I would have considered it for backup recorder, hops and scratch track on small jobs, but dont think I will replace my Tentacles and G3 for that purpose anytime soon. Maybe as a TC stamped backup recorder, the EIN figure doesnt seem too great, but better than nothing.
  19. Allen doesnt seem too excited after real life testing.
  20. Sometimes it can be quite neat to use overcovers, not as windcovers, but as spacers. A bumblebee with an overcover on the mount (lower down) can help if you dont get the mount to work by itself.
  21. Looks great! Think the only issue I have seen people have so far is the price point which was not set in stone, but a notch higher than any competitor. On my control surface I have coloured caps that I move around as needed, it looks as that might be hard to achieve here. Maybe there could be some thin layer coloured rubber or something to adress that? Am I missing something? The sealed faders reminds me of cantar where swapping fader caps seems easy.
  22. Okey, even better! I remember you posted about 6 hour runtime on FB. Looking at gotham they report 4.5 hours runtime on 50mw, might want to revisit the advertised runtime for your suppliers. In any case, as A20 just came out this year, it needs to compete with ZMT4 and Axient, probably soon Wisy as well. To be fair, if someone is already invested in a 8-series recorder, getting Zaxnet and remote gain on the ZMT requires a bit more tinkering than just slot in an A10RX with A20TX.
