  1. You okay with renting? Handheld or Helloworld is great for renting that sort of thing. If you're looking to buy, you could try Abelcine.
  2. The Orca looks really cool-- but FWIW it's not DIY, and a lot larger than what Pete came up with. As an NYC'r I'm more into the lean and mean.
  3. I would also LOVE to beta test the new release of FreqFinder. Same specs as Jose over there re: phone (can also test with iPad2 if you want) my email is cory AT silversound (dot) us C
  4. Everybody always dumps on G3s. I think they're pretty darn great as long as you're not trying to push the range too far. IMHO they sound much nicer (and certainly have better signal to noise) than lectro 200 series, but not as nice as 400 series. I recently put a 664 with a G3 up for sale. Almost immediately got more than 5 people asking about the G3 and whether I'd sell it separately. If you're looking for a halfway step up, I suggest you look for some used sennheiser 2000 series. These are basically the same as G3s but can be dialed to 50mw and have 3 pin Lemo wiring. I've used these with a good amount of of success. And I didn't mention this before, but I also really like the form factor and ease of use of the g3s. Another suggestion is to look for some used qrx100 trxla900 Zax wireless. Those sound absolutely phenomenal, and there are more on the used market than one would initially think.
  5. dave-- the download buttons and hints are all in-game. (it's a flash game) C
  6. @henchman and @phillip perkins, I'm particularly interested to see how quickly you can dispatch this game...
  7. So I spent 6 hours playing this computer game yesterday after a friend sent it my way. www.phonopath.com Might be the most fun I've had in years. Simple concept, EXCELLENT execution. Everything that I've encountered so far can be solved using Audacity. Currently stuck on level 4.4. Really curious to know if anyone's beaten this already. (without looking up answers, which I'm proud to say I haven't done yet. But I HAVE definitely used the in-game clues. At first I wasn't, but they are pretty necessary...) C
  8. More features, more interest. Lack of keyboard support in Maxx is a big minus when folks are deciding what to take out vs. other similarly sized machines out there... HOWEVER-- very excited about ZaxMote. Where do I get me a dongle?!
  9. Could the qrx send keyboard letters to the maxx? Qrx allows zaxnet to show up on maxx's screen..
  10. Since there is no keyboard for support Maxx or for Nomad 10 users, I am hoping this dongle will also allow us to use our iPhones as a keyboard to insert metadata.
  11. +1 Nagra has clearly been thinking about this (nagra seven). I think the ability to use the usb connection to transfer data from the unit to a hard drive would be pretty awesome as well.
