  1. But you said you use a short jumper cable normally. So it seems to be pointing more to the TRX, although you don't hear the problem with the 641/TRX. I'd say the the 'not-solid-lock' of XLRs is the issue. Even though XLRs lock, if there is any sort of jostling, the pins can get jostled and cause noise. I think Documentary Sound Guy has it. The connection probably needs to be secured better. How do you mount the TRX to the boom?
  2. Isolate the problem by eliminating one element at a time. - Both microphones exhibit the issue. On the odd chance that both are the problem, try reproducing the problem with another microphone. - Eliminate the cable as the problem by connecting the TRX directly to the microphone. - Eliminate the TRX as the problem by connecting the cable to an extension cable and directly into the mixer.
  3. Ignoring your questions and moving on to get information about you is a flag. He could be a bad communicator, which also is a flag, but it wouldn't hurt to ask him another question to see how he responds.
  4. Get out there! I'm 70; medical conditions. I had Covid. No biggie. Like a mild cold. By now, I think 99% of us have had Covid and probably don't even know it.
  5. Half inch fits. But I have some 5/8" all thread that fits also with a snug fit. The minimum diameter on 5/8 thread is supposed to be .617" but the stuff I have measures .602". I'll see if I can get a piece of 5/8 rod in there.
  6. Atomos does not seem like a candidate. They reported a loss of $61 million on a revenue of $42 million with a loss of $10 million the previous year. Their stock stopped trading a year ago @$.065.
  7. Can I load the app on more than one device and then use it on one device at a time? I want to try it out on my phone, but I will likely use it on a tablet.
  8. Correction. The item I talked about is not a patent, but an application for a patent. Zaxcom filed an application for a new patent and the text was published this month. The patent has not been awarded yet. That can take a couple of years.
  9. The patent was filed in 2010 and may expire in 2030. I say 'may' because the patent office does not publish expiration dates and the whole expiration date thing can be quite muddled. Mr. Sanders and Mr. Stark were awarded new patents last year that are related inventions that could allow them to continue to defend local recording in a wireless device for another 20 years. Zaxcom is still defending it's patents according to Newsshooter. https://www.newsshooter.com/2023/11/09/zaxcom-sues-rode-for-patent-infringement-with-wireless-pro/
  10. I tried a 12V to 3V adapter. It took 12V from an NP-F battery plate which runs my mixer in the bag. While the 7.4 to 12V booster in the plate is dead silent, the 12V to 3V converter adds a whine with the G3s.
  11. Nothing like documenting fraud.
  12. I think it may depend on the people at T-Mobile, who I believe, bought most of the 600Mhz space. Depending on how it goes for them, they may have a powerful lobby to make a case for more of the sub-600Mhz spectrum for mobile service. Some wireless mic consortium (is there such a thing?) would have to speak up.
  13. I don't know what datasheet I was looking at to get the 2500mah, but I looked again and indeed, it's 3500 mah. Ok, no mystery there.
