rad. this looks promising, in that it seems portable enough, and can handle various DC sources, perhaps whatever the Mothership solar throws at me. as long as it's not software dependent after initial setup - i don't think i have space for my laptop!

Jon - indeed i may pack an inverter (or they *might* be packing such already), but my first goal, as this is a very remote and rugged month-long expedition, is to be as efficient as possible, it appears they discourage the DC-AC-DC energy flow, for good reason of course, but yeah - inverters aren't too heavy as a backup.
Dalton - that's very appealing and was my first consideration. i just don't think we have canoe space for my own solar rig. today i heard that the community solar rig can provide - so i'm focusing on the DC charging aspect to make my share as efficient as possible.
