This is a really cool product! The clamp remains however and there is an even bigger need to have a padded pouch with such a clamp for directors, script ppl, etc.

Thank you for your feedback, i ve been thinking about a sort of neoprene wrap around accesory.  Good idea

  2. Hi,

i love my g2-g3’s but cannot stand the metal clip anymore. We ve designed a better solution. I ve been filming with those for a while and my clients love them:

-Clips with one hand and stays in place nice at the belt.

-There’s an optional 1/4 thread arm accesory for camera or cart use.

-made of a single piece of NYLON material. Full replacement one year warranty.

Made in canada, we ship internationally ✌️🇨🇦

    Available here ⬇️

Thank you, Shastapete for catching this. Definitely testing the limits of what is allowed on the site, This is full on advertising and should be paid for. If I do not hear from this company I may have to take the post down altogether.

Hey Jeff, i’m sorry this came across bad, i ve posted this quick without thinking enough beforehand. i m super gratefull for all the information i ve read here through the years, it’s been a blessing in my career to have this place. Let me know how i can make this right by informing your users about the small startup that s aiming to help other sound mixers work better AND supporting your site.

  5. hello, jw members, this is just a quick heads up on new things we ve been making over at LOCATIONSOUNDTOOLS. We ve started this during the big lockdown here in montreal last spring and we ve really enjoyed making things for users worldwide. Our mission to make small, light and efficient tools to make our work better.

these are the most recent things we re doing:

    - a simple battery dummy adaptor that allow you to power a DENECKE slate with a 9V battery instead of the 6 x AA battery caddy. This was originally a request by a friend.

    https://locationsoundtools.com/products/the-9v-dummy-adaptor?_pos=1&_psq=9v&_ss=e&_v=1.0

    - a new 2.0 version plug-on adaptor for the zmtph zaxcom phantom transmitter with a cool right angled cable.

    https://locationsoundtools.com/collections/boompole-products

    - a zaxcom nova sunhood that just  improves visibility and simply clips in place:

    https://locationsoundtools.com/products/the-nova-sunhood?_pos=1&_psq=nova&_ss=e&_v=1.0

    - we make the battery holders for the np50 (a design by chase Yeremian) and bt100 batteries and a tentacle sync E caddy that helps you keep track on what is charged up.

    https://locationsoundtools.com/collections/battery-caddy

    - we make stickmic adaptor for the zaxcom zmt transmitters:

    - and beltpack clips for the zaxcom line of transmitters

so yeah we’re keeping busy. Please don t hesitate to send us comments or ideas about making new things:

  6. We’ve kept busy expanding the line of belt clips to the LRXLA and TRXLT. It’s a clip that will STAY in place and not fall from pants or belt thanks to his BIG clip with a stopper. Always made with PRO-PLA that is super strong, rounded corners, soft to the touch comfortable to wear for talent. The transmitters can also be slid in upside down in the clip. The exceeding cable can also be looped around the clip. ✌️🛠🎛

That is very clever  --- I was about to ask "where is the antenna" and then I see it in the video. I would worry about the antenna being right in line with the body of the microphone where you will be grabbing it. Also, I believe Zaxcom dose have a ZMT style transmitter with an XLR connector on it, designed exactly for this purpose, to make any microphone a stick mic.

thank you for your compliment jeff, in the most recent version of the holder i have made a little hole that allows you to tuck the antenna around the TX instead of along the microphone. it is still not perfect antenna placement but better than under somebody's fingers. will work just fine for most close range situations.

i understand that there is a dedicated zmt style plug on transmitter that frankly will be faster to setup than this. My idea was that i get asked maybe once or twice a year for a stickmic so i can t justify buying a 2000$ dedicated tx just for that so i came up with this as an alternative for those few and between occasions. it takes about 30 seconds to setup and you can change battery quick.

this is great! i do have the zmt plugon that i use for wireless boom and stick but i run into the need for 2 stick mics from time to time and this is exactly what i would need opposed to buying 2nd zmt plug that may barely see use in my kit. I personally think the antenna is something i could deal with. great idea and well executed

thank you OSA that was the reasoning behind it. fell free to reach me if you d like me to make you one. cheers

  8. Hello sound hive,

i m dominique greffard, a sound mixer based in montreal canada. I have recently got a zaxcom nova and a couple of zmt transmitters that i really like.

a few times a year i get asked to provide production with a wireless stickmic and i can t justify buying a dedicated xlr transmitter for those rare instances.

i decided to come up with an adaptor to allow a zmt transmitter to work with the sennheiser md-46, shure sm58 and the electro-voice re-50.

i am now selling those with the xlr-f to lemo adaptor for 110$ Usd paypal.

I would really like to know what you think about the product. I understand that bending the antenna around creates a rf compromise but after some testing it works fine for those close range applications.

i can be reached at dominiquegreffard@gmail.com

    thanks,

Really wish it had a 3.5 mm jack for headphones as well. Use the big one for normal work. If the jack breaks inside the socket you switch to the 3.5 mm instead and save the day.
I've gotten rental gear (664) with one of two headphone outputs broken because of this.

Two sockets. One professional and one consumer. The latter will save you when you have to buy an emergency headset in a rural town somewhere in Africa, and the only thing they got is a Casio or some shitty noname brand.

    That's redundancy.

(Yes, I usually bring backup headphones with screw on connectors. Prepared for anything)

i tottally agree with that. My main headphone jack broke on my nomad years ago and the hp2  saved the day. I ll probably do a heaphone 1/4 to 1/8” jumper to protect the connector from tension.
