  1. There is so much wrong with this post. What "Customers" are you talking about? The ones in the usual suspect storefront, looking at Georges new slate 4 months from now? You are saying that fictitious "customer " won't be happy because he can get it on the kickstarter campaign Cheaper?. The campaign that is over and done with now these past 4 months?... Those "customers" missed the boat on that. So, they are upset about what now these customers? I'd think they'd be happy they are looking at a wall of affordable new slates.
  2. Any chance a usual suspect might be interested in picking up the balance? shame if George's slate remains but a hopeful dream. We could use an affordable timecode slate option. Does anyone know a usual suspect personally that might put the idea in their ear?
  3. How did this situation work out Richard?
  4. I've had 100+ items shipped to me via USPS from US > Canada, nothing ever lost. And, Its often surprisingly fast.
  5. Actually It's a model made by this guy. Brilliant brilliant man. He's 40 seconds in. Wait for it.
  6. Tell us more about the 40 miles situ? A
  7. I've had antennas sent to me in Canada. I requested they be mailed in an envelope. And they were. It's the same ol typical shipping reality. Manufacturers or sellers or whatever, need confirmation of receipt. And often you only get that with a somewhat premium costing service. If they were sent in an envelope, who's to say some jerk would lie and say they didn't receive them. If there were, a cheaper alternative for shipping antennas, I certainly would have appreciated the attempt to find out exactly the least expensive way to ship. And, I would be pissed off if there were a flat rate traceable envelope at a lesser cost. The base question is, does the person responsible in the shipping dept even care.. Everything Zaxcom is expensive enough already.. IMO, My message to Zaxcom. If a customer orders only antennas, please consider shipping the antennas in an envelope for your registered customers. Or at least offer it as an option. If you give a break on this one thing. You wont regret it.
  8. Yes it did. loose ribbon cable was the culprit. Called into Zaxcom first thing, Pressed 2 for tech support. Glenn takes the call. I describe the situ, seems to Glenn it's a connection issue between the face plate and the main board. Indeed, it was exactly that. Found the loose ribbon cable and (with a fair bit of difficulty) slipped it back in place. Going into Trew Thursday to replace Saxnet antenna.
  9. We should talk. Ok, anyone else from Canada want to get in on group buy? more and more shoots with small format camera, and since the cams are so cheap, several at a time! I've Been putting off buying a slate for almost a decade. Not enough demand, and, the value for money, at a 1200$+ price point isn't there. The scale is weighted towards, not too good an investment shall we say. Got by fine with; claps, bloops, Erx, nomad slate screen. Seems now, with more "need" for one, and at 575$... I'm in at that price point. PM me if interested. We could ship to one city then distribute? 40ish more slates to go to make it happen. Hmmm
  10. anyone interested in sharing a two pack?
  11. Left side ribbon cable came half undone. Pulled the face out a touch too much. Hard to get that ribbon cable back in! Hope I never need do that again.
  12. dang I need a cable. It Snapped. Ssma was loose half the time, connector spun till cable snapped. Oops. Rebooted with mirror card in primary and vice versa. Swap those back... Reboot. Hmm. Pots #2 and #3 led no longer function. that's a shame. (Couple reboots) Pot #1 won't light up now. Oh, won't playback. Won't stop out of record. Let's see ... Reset factory settings. No change. Upgrade firmware to 7.20. No change. Anything I missed?
  13. Thanks Glenn, appreciate it. I'll open her up tonight.
  14. Thanks Jack. How does "it" come off and how does "it" get put back on if the cable didn't snap.
  15. On location, getting maybe 6 feet of Zaxnet range. Antenna doesn't seem to be doing anything. I am quite positive, the interior connection to the ssma is snapped. Again. Last time dealer fixed it. Didn't get a chance to see. If this field fixable? Is it a soldered connection?
  16. Yes. Indeed. Please look into offering a simple USPS option. FedEx and UPS often end up charging an exorbitant "brokerage" fee. (Robbery) Unless it's shipped overnight. In which case brokerage is included.
  17. Would anyone like to share the 2X slate package? 575 each.
  18. I've noticed with gear like that, rear connectors, it can actually offer an opportunity for mounting on a bag. Make a small hole in fabric and plug in from behind. It holds there. (Testing required).. Great videos! Nice work on the slate. Offer more early bird specials! you will get there.
  19. That's great. Any thoughts about adding more "Loops" for pen/screwdrivers, and offering a zippered front pocket? Expensive things have the potential to fall out presently.
  20. I'm surprised to hear that. Navigation is like butter on both my devices.
