  1. Yup, try wrapping the power cable of the ifb100 through a ferrite filter a few times. Hopefully that does the trick.
  2. I've tried PB bags, and always ended up going with the Petrol in the end.... that's all I can say
  3. There's currently no output delay from the Nomad box itself v5.02.
  4. Biggest factor for me (between these machines) is size and weight. All great machines, you'll be happy with any decision.
  5. That's good news Glenn, thanks for that
  6. Well... crap happens during shipping, and this is what happened to mine after receiving it from Zaxcom last time. After correcting the issue and trying to bend the retainer to grip the battery tighter it still slips with minimal effort. Obviously I'm not going out of my way to try and make this happen, however there's times I'm running, ducking, or twisting myself into odd spots that I will be having to worry about this happening while working. Also.... I love watching TSA turning all my @%(# upside down and which way as they inspect my bag at times.....another possibility for accidents...sigh.
  7. I would like to point out a design issue with Nomad now that there's a good reference picture here. At the 12 o'clock position near the top edge of the "back" of Nomad, you'll see the Li-Ion battery. The mount that this battery slips into has it's opening at the 9 o'clock position... or pointed at the left side of the Nomad (battery door, CF card side). Be careful tipping Nomad towards that side as for gravity and any decent nudge in that direction can dismount the battery and have it freely rattling around inside requiring you to take the shell apart and reinstalling the battery. I would hope to see Zaxcom change this mount to a more secure type of battery clip in future builds, if not future machines... like Maxx.
  8. Larry, is that measurement from the tip or base (threaded) part of the antenna you speak of?
  9. This announcement might be of importance to you.
  10. I think to truly appreciate what was being done here is to have a play back system similar to how it was being recorded.... not mixed into a format it was not. I can see what's going on here, but... headphone or not... I only have 2 speakers to reproduce something that was intended for more.
  11. If it hasn't been brought up yet, look this documentary up, great film.
  12. At the point where you said the Zax systems would take a hit, was the sound of the lectros introducing the fizz of a not so strong signal as well?
  13. I love blind tests... I'll take a guess 1 = ECM 2 = COS11x 3 = AT 4 = TR 50
  14. The latter part is one that ENG type shooting really doesn't have time to deal with or want to pay for when sound is to end up on camera only.
  15. ID perhaps, press crap (although usually larger and worn around neck). Personally, I put my business card in there. Just pops open, outer edge is just a shell that snaps around the edge.
  16. I own both.... love em both, but CMIT is the shizzzzzz. Off axis is very steep with the CS3 compared to the CMIT. CS3 is fantastic and I use it when more on the move outdoors, around very noisy environments, or am too afraid of getting the CMIT dirty
  17. Yup, or you can jam using the QRX as well.
  18. Mark, i've used my QRX100 on the back of a Red One and Epic, I powered it from the D-tap off the battery sled of the camera and all was fine. I no longer do that however, and just use an ERX.... way easier and lighter to deal with.
  19. Yup, but now it's in a PS617.
  20. I own and use both, you'll be happy with either. Make a list of items you're wanting out of a system (like size you mentioned), then put a check on the items that qualify for each of your wants/needs. The one with the most checks should be your decision. In the case of a tie..... catch a tiger by the toe
  21. I would really like to get a few if there was a directional mic option, not just omni.
