  1. I don't know much about it, but wouldn't Sonosax or Nagra Audio be more likely to acquire rights to Aaton?
  2. I think the SGS ones are the lightest.
  3. Paul, unfortunately I now longer have the files. I just did it for a pre-purchase decision. I bought the DPA 4018C, and a 4017B. I'm happy with my decision.
  4. To me, the DPA sounded more neutral, and smoother. The Schoeps sounded warmer, but some high frequencies sounded a little harsh. I could have lived with that, but I noticed some artifacts from the Schoeps when I was recording too near a wall. (The DPA didn't have the problem.) All in all, it just boils down to personal preference.
  5. A few years ago I did I test between the Schoeps, and the DPA. I preferred the DPA.

    DPA 2011

I do have a pair of DPA 2011c. Don't quote me on this, but I believe they use the same capsules as the 406X lavaliere microphones. Their response is not quite as flat, and they are not as quiet as the 4011's. I was planning on using them as a small stereo pair for location work, but have not done so as of yet. I did use them as a voice over mic, and the client was happy with the sound.
