  1. I've had good results with the NC transmitters. That's one of the things I've noticed the most between the Lectrosonics transmitters in the Zaxcom transmitters. When you are in a situation where there is a large dynamic range with what you are recording, going from whispers to yelling for example, the Zaxcom transmitters do a much better job with the louder sounds.
  2. Thanks everyone, these are awesome and I will definitely share some of these. I noticed the majority of these recordings are nature sounds, does anyone know where some cool examples of maybe some sports type things might be? I'm just thinking out loud of many different types of examples. Thanks again!
  3. Does anyone here have a great example of an MS recording they did? Maybe something that made it to a cool video or something that shows how interesting and enriching an MS recording can be compared to just a mono file?

    Mic plexer 2

I think it would be awesome if the next version of the micplexer had two filters in it so they could be used in different blocks if one wanted to do so.
  5. Whoa! How did you do that?! Did you have to cut any of the material? Any chance on a closer picture?
  6. I agree Neverclip would have been nice especially for the HM version. I'm thinking specifically on a few jobs where I have had a stand-up comedy presenter go from almost whispering to full out yelling. Neverclip shines in scenarios like this.
  7. Many of us are still hoping that re-record will happen soon. It also might be possible for powerroll to go down to 25mW with the new txs, but not implemented yet. Open to correction.
  8. I've played around with the Lectros, Comteks, Zaxcom ERXs, and the Sennheiser G3 IEMs. I settled on the Sennheisers sounding the best in my opinion. I thought the others had less quality whether that be hissy, or thiner sounding. But there are even differences between some of my G3s, and I assume some need to go in for a tuneup.
  9. Did a test in the beginning. Left it running with a mic and got aittle over 5 hrs at 50mW and with the lock screen engaged. But I do want to test it again.
  10. I've been very happy with it. Seems like it is as solid as the other transmitters as far as software and the clip has worked well for me too. I've actually put a small piece of Velcro on the side so I can wrap excess lav cable around the Tx and then secure it too the side. Keeps everything secure when using a clip as well.
  11. Sweet! I like the Tetris perfection. Just curious, if you are to use Nomad, do you ever end up having to pull your whole bag apart?
  12. This is great! I really hope Zaxcom can do an automix update to their Nomad and Maxx line to compete with this. Sound Devices shines in this department.
  13. I love cool new stuff. Looking forward to it!
  14. I really would love for Nomad to get an Automix overhaul. It would really be nice to have a much more simplified Automix rather than one that has to be endlessly tweaked depending upon the environment you are in. This is where the Sound Devices 688 shines with Dugan in my opinion. With location mixing, I never have the time to setup auto mix with all the different parameters. It would be amazing to have an Automix that you can just turn on and get good results.
  15. That would be sweet. A recorder with AutoMix AND Cedar.
  16. Are they mkII C300's? Those have had TC issues. The first generation C300's have always bee rock solid for me but the new ones have given me problems with various TC sources. Not sure if it has been worked out with firmware or not.
  17. I've just noticed that if my Nomad and QRXs are powered on but without any TXs on, and my dipoles were that close to everything, I would get a couple levels of pixels of stray RF across the scan. If my dipoles are outside of my Stingray bag, I can get clean freqs without any stray RF pixels on my QRXs.

    Gps tracker

Looks like it is $100 for the tracker and then another $100 for the annual service subscription? Has it been pretty accurate for you as far as location and does it have good battery life?

    Gps tracker

Just reviving this topic but does anyone have experience with the latest GPS trackers? This would be mainly to place on bags in case something was stolen.
  20. I'd be surprised if you didn't get any stray RF from your nomad having it literally being on the chassis of the recorder! Good for you if it's working. :-) I had to get my dipoles out of the bag on the outside.
  21. I just did a shoot with a FB live via the iPhone and actually iRig makes an adapter that is basically a XLR input to TRRS iPhone input. So basically just going mic level mix out of your rig into the iRig and to the iPhone was pretty easy and sounded decent. It does require buying the iRig which is like $40 or something.
  22. I was browsing Home Depot the other day and found this Nite Ize belt clip that almost seems like it was made for the ZMT. Fits perfectly and even has a cut out strip that is exactly the width of Joe's Sticky Stuff making it easily mountable to the battery door and also easy to take off if not needed. Here is a link and some photos. It is about as low profile as you can get for a clip Nite Ize Total eCLIPse Belt Clip - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HUV8FWW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1GKLyb0MR7465
  23. The SD card slot is slightly underneath the surface so you actually have to put a fingernail in to eject it. If you push your hardest with you thumb flat against the surface, it won't eject. At least on my unit.
