  1. My favorite quote: "if you give them a tasty mix - they just might use it!"
  2. if you're on instagram, seach for the tag #lookslikeadick hours of funny content
  3. Printed TC track lined up with the timeline. Goes out to mixer on a separate channel that they put on an iso. I generally use a Euphonix MC Mix as a control surface and a Motu Traveler as an interface. I do all the (sometimes extensive) routing I need to do in Pro Tools - makes it easy to automate if need be. -greg-
  4. you can squeeze a 742 into the lectro pouches made for the uh400 (and previous) style transmitters.
  5. jack, is there any way the oasis will work with the Deva?
  6. damn I wish the Oasis could work with the Deva/Fusion
  7. Has eq (more than just notch filters) been added to the nomad 12?
  8. Good stuff. I've been thinking of making a run n gun sort of rig with all 8020, but this seems like a great way to go!
  9. I worked ona project where the airplane was parked at the gate and the cabin was still noisey as hell. Good luck.
  10. +1 for the rain man. Works better than hogs hair in my opinion. As for the XLR connections, get yourself some "rescue tape" to wrap around the connectors. It'll keep the water out and the tape only sticks to itself. Also, an uncabled pole w an external cable down the pole is also recommended.
  11. According to IMBD, a mixer (could be one of many I suppose) for the project is a fella named Tim Hays. Anyone know him? He's got some big time credits.
  12. Before joining the IA I had Freelancers Union insurance. I was paying about $300/350 for what I felt was a decent plan. Not sure what it is for someone with a family. Worth a look if they offer insurance in your area.
  13. Guessing this is too little too late: but eq is probably about your only option. That or maybe triggering some like sfx files! I would also guess microphone selection is the only other solution yeah?
  14. Delvcam and Marshall both make dual rack monitors that offer a variety of inputs. Pretty sure hdmi too. That said hdmi cable runs pretty much suck. Constantin, what are you using for this?
  15. The cheapest option really is the Smartview Duo from Backmagic. Costs less than $500. Only thing of course, is that it's a dual monitor display vs the single display you may be looking for.
  16. Meon life My overall point really is that equipment does break down. In this case, I do now feel that I'd rather have the power distro and battery be separate. It seems less likely to me that both elements would fail at the same time, but if they are housed in the same unit then you are screwed. I understand the space saving part of it - though now that we have pelican LiFe batteries instead of the SLA ones I personally think they're much easier to accommodate. Again, just my take on it. Everyone's needs are a little different, including how big or small your cart is...
  17. FWIW, I have sent my Meon back multiple times. 3 so far I think. The most recent was due to a "board trace that went bad" or something. Of course the unit went bad while on set. The other two times its been sent back were due to remote audio "recalls" Though I'm sure the folks at Remote Audio do their best to make good products, I would go a different route personally, separating the battery and the power distro. If you want to carry a backup, it'll be cheaper to go with two PowerStars or Powermaxes (for example) and a single battery. Especially with the new LiFe battery weight and sizes. Just my 2 cents.
  18. Curious Michael, you feed a line level signal from the MM1 into a Zax Trx?
  19. Earmuffs, I've been using psc 48v phantom supplies into Zax body pack transmitters. Works just fine and I can use rechargeable batts!
  20. Been asking for this for...maybe 4 years now. Even offered to design the interface. Now that the mix12 is basically a discontinued device (wait...is it discontinued? Need to look that up) maybe they'll finally make a mix 10.
  21. 788 is an 8 track recorder (if being fed from a board). Why does this seem so mysterious?
  22. This pretty much sums up my experience. That, and I can no longer take McConaughey seriously. I wore earplugs the entire time.
  23. My Mini Cart is only 15 inches wide - so rack mounting anything doesn't really work. I opened up the case, drilled the back, and bolted in an ambient quick release. Granted, I rest it on it's end, but a magic arm keeps it in place and would also keep it suspended if I wanted to raise it up. I fold the monitors down flat when loading into a truck or my car. Warning: I'm sure drilling the case or even opening it up has voided it's warrantee. Also, the Ambient quick release has some play to it - it twists just a little even when locked closed. Perhaps there are some better alternatives out there.
