  1. Ok. Thanks. Will have to re think my options for now
  2. Any plans on a new wide band "CL" camera link with ZHD to match my RX200 that I haven't even taken out of its box yet? This would be very welcome please. I purchased the RX200 to replace my RX900S but the current CL is not wide band so a new wide band CL would be the go. Thanks
  3. Just get a Sound Devices 633 if you want to keep a small and light weight package that does A LOT.
  4. Firmware is at 5.2 Your clicking noise might be the battery telemetry bug. Not sure if it applies to you, just thought it could possibly be your problem. There's also the sleep bug I forgot about yesterday. See email from Lectro below, this is 2 years old but info should be pretty accurate now still
  5. Email lectro with the firmware version your Tx's are running. They should be able to tell you if your units have the low battery clicking noise bug. It's caused by the telemetry IIRC Theres a fix for it, needs a firmware update. Depending on the firmware, your units may also have the block change with power restore on bug. Cant remember the latest revision of firmware. Will have a look tomorrow.
  6. You're a genius Johnny! Many thanks! I knew started with a "T" Jan's thread is a beauty, BTW.
  7. Hi been searching for the thread that discussed the use of an elastic type bandage which is tubular and when used for tx, it folds up to create a pocket that tx goes into. Cant find the thread, can anyone remind me the name of the stuff in question please? its something like Tensor many thanks Peter
  8. Congratulations Bronson best regards to you and your family and to your gorgeous new family addition!!
  9. "Lectrosonics...you are being heard" That should be your slogan!
  10. Got a reply from Whirlwind. Heres what they said: Catdusa is good for 1000 feet + as they are running straight forward audio
  11. Thanks for correcting me Larry. I knew something was out of phase but got the info wrong. Apologies for any confusion. Hope you're well Larry. Cheers
  12. Thanks Jeff i sent whirlwind an email regarding length etc with no reply as yet. Will post here if they reply
  13. In my opinion, the red dot COS11 is a special purpose mic rather than general purpose. I think you'll still notice a noise floor, even if wired for servo only, because of the fact that, with the red dot, you need to crank up the gain for normal speech levels thus introducing noise. They're good for loud yelling etc but that's about it IMO. I have many black dot ones wired for servo only, which I believe sounds nicer than universal, and they sound great at about 11oclock on a lectro. The black dots can take plenty of SPL with no issue when wired servo only. YMMV To answer your question of whether you should sell your red dot and get normal ones wired as servo only, I personally would say yes but ultimately it's up to you. Can you foresee a use for your red dots in a special purpose scenario? Do you have any transmitters that are older non servo inputs? If not, why use universal wiring? The UNIV wiring also changes the phase.
  14. Look at Sescom for adaptor cables. I have one from them that is an iPhone in and out cable. For example. http://www.sescom.com/product.asp?item=IPHONE-MIC-1RA Using this, you could set up a conference/group call including your phone (conference call may not be necessary in this particular scenario of yours) then you can receive the caller's line plus send the talents audio all through your phone. This gives you control of levels. You can record the talents mic clean onto a track, then record the talents phone line audio along with the callers audio onto another track. All ISO, let post deal with any delays. Hope this helps.
  15. Agree. As above. I have many SMQV and they last for around 10-12 hours on lithium AA disposables. All mine have the new thumbscrews Also check its not on 250mw
  16. Any one used this? http://whirlwindusa.com/catalog/snakes-splitters-and-multiwiring-systems/snakes/catdusa Whats the maximum length of Cat cable for systems like this? thavks Peter Mega
  17. Press the dot or star to the left of the subject. The star means you've replied in that thread cheers Mega
  18. How exactly are you guys creating your sound report on the 788T? Because when I create mine using the short cut (Press and hold stop, then press menu), it creates onto my internal SSD and CF card simultaneously. Admittedly I've never tried it with an external drive hooked up but I'm pretty sure it creates onto all drives already. If you go into the folders and create them there then it only goes into the drive your in. As as far as new gear wish list, a new version of 788T for me too. Also a new Lectro ifb receiver with lcd screen, lots of pre sets for channels (instead of current storing method of 5 only), wide band, and indented knob for changing channels and push and turn for volume or some similar arrangement.
  19. I was in this exact same situation in a plane last year. Not allowed to use wireless at all. I had 2 COS11 into Ambient Eumel and one of them started playing up. Frustratingly, I tested them the day before, then in the car park at the airport before the flight, then at the gate before getting on the plane. All was good. Take off, set up and 1 Eumel goes bad. Boom sounded like rubbish so I had to jiggle the Eumel and TA5 and get it to work. Then tape it to the armrest so it wouldn't move and stay working. Got through the shoot but was touch and go fur a while there!! Had cables all over the place. 2 from the mics back to me, then headphone distribution to the producers, all cabled to me. Nightmare really. Then to make it worse, a behind the scenes crew was shooting me trying to get up running with the Eumel. It probably looked like I was setting up but I felt like telling them where to go!! Anyway, not a great day. Planes and shoots on board are challenging to say the least. Maybe the the cabin pressure got to the Eumel, not sure what happened after thorough tests and checks.
  20. Sincere condolences to you and your family, Jeff. My thoughts are with you. Peter Mega
  21. Well if you're like me and extend and retract the pole at very fast speed, the lav cable idea would last about a minute. I wouldn't bother, speaking for myself only of course.
  22. It's a normal mic cable. If you primarily do reality and doc work, forget the straight cable. Drama and films is about the only type of work you'd be able to use it. The cable exits the bottom of the pole and to describe what happens in a very course way, it ends up on the floor when the pole is retracted thus needs to be wrapped/coiled up like a loose mic cable for example. You our would get very frustrated with it in reality/doc work. Stick to your internal coily cable. I have a K-Tek K152CCR and love it. At times, I'm quite an aggressive boom swinger in reality TV and have very minimal noise from it, if any. The benefits of not having external csble to deal with in these situations far outweighs the occasional knock/slap from the internal cable. You will get used to it. Get a good mount also.
  23. How reusable are these or are they a one off, throw away? Just wondering about how they survive after peeling the tape off? Looks like foam which might break down after one tape peel off? How can we get these in Australia? Do you have a distributor here? Nice product. Thanks Peter
  24. Vin just click on the bullet/dot or the star and you'll go straight to the last posting. The star actually means you've replied in that thread
