  1. As cool as this new system is, I'm a bit disappointed the new receivers are more or less the same as the existing ones. I would've loved to have seen a completely newly designed receiver that had a screen and presets for storing more channels (like at least 10) that could even be labeled. An indented knob for changing channels and a push down and turn for volume or visa versa. The current method of storing more channels to the next open channel is cumbersome and at times frustrating. Lectro is welcome to use these ideas for the next IFB receiver. Dont get me wrong though, I love my R1a's, I just feel they need an update. Thanks and regards Peter Mega
  2. Yes. As I said above, generally your posts are informative and I like reading them. You certainly have invested a lot of time here and I certainly have enjoyed your informative posts. I'd hate to see that disappear.
  3. Sure. It's just that I've noticed you saying this in quite a few threads lately. Generally, your posts are informative and I like reading them. I'm just pointing out what I've noticed.
  4. come on man! Are you replacing the Senator? I've noticed you've been saying this in quite a few threads lately Let people ask questions here. Maybe we can all learn something from it. Apart from my camera link (and my yet to receive RX200), I don't have any Zaxcom gear but I still like to read and learn about Zaxcom. If the OP asked Zaxcom directly, we may never know the answer. I actually prefer people ask most questions here than to the manufacturer directly. Some correspondence should be kept private but everything else is good to know about here And funnily enough, Glenn has replied here and does so all the time (along with Lectro, SD, Tascam etc) , so the OP asking here is more or less the same as asking The manufacturer directly.
  5. Sorry about the misinformation about the M.
  6. The TX in question are servo inputs. The M is the block. They are block 26, correct? i have several of these, no different to any other SMQV.
  7. Thanks Nate, nice one. Will check that other thread too, couldn't find it by search. thanks Glen
  8. Any more feedback or reviews on the RX200? thanks
  9. You can also power the UFM230 with a BIAS T at the receiver end then come out of that to the ZFSC41. This way there's no need to power the UFM230 directly and no mess of 9v batts etc. how long is your RF cable run? Works very well, I do it all the time.
  10. I agree with you Jan and Robert and I manage to hide in ties completely invisibly 99% of the time. My point is that unless we point out to people that there's a slight bump or whatever, they won't notice, even the crew. The other challenge we face on reality shows is time. I'm lucky to get 5 minutes each to mic my 2 hosts on a show I do and that's wiring them with ties (sometimes no ties ) and also induction neck loop, R1a and earpieces. We don't all have the luxury of having actors come to the cart for wiring with plenty of time and a nice chat. Sure my aim is to hide mics completely invisibly AND make them sound good but it's also to keep the day moving and not hear the dreaded waiting on sound remarks!! If that means a slight bump that no one will notice AND it sounds good, I'll go with it. Heck, people wear necklaces under clothing which shows a bump in real life, so no difference really. My Jade necklace shows a bump under my shirt every day!
  11. Only we notice it Jan. the regular viewer would never notice nor care. They just want to hear it. With enough practice, you can get a mic in a tie knot and be completely invisible. The tie has to be done up tight to the collar though and sometimes creating a dimple in the knot to recess the mic helps to conceal. Bring the mesh of the mic right to the bottom of the knot so it's just out of sight. If it's higher in the knot, it sounds muffled with some material. Outdoors with wind is another story.
  12. I think it's hilarious that one of the guys pushing the dolly has a cigarette hanging out of his mouth!!
  13. Hi Rob You look well mate. I think your next career move is TV Presenter!! When are you going to tell the story about how you got the name Rastorder? It's so good Cheers mate Peter Mega
  14. Saw this in an airline magazine on a plane yesterday. http://www.alpinetec.co has limitations but might be enough to do what you want. It sends a message to your phone when it moves and can sound an alarm also
  15. No worries. Forgot to mention the dot becomes a star if you've replied in a thread but will have the same function.
  16. I find the mobile version of the site on my iPhone is great, especially since the site update a few weeks ago. I'll never even bother with tapatalk I find it that good. Wyatt, if you press the dot in the left, it will go straight to the unread message in that thread. See pic/dots on the left of topic. Thanks again Jeff for a great site. Cheers Mega
  17. If it's a JL2 plus, it will charge Lithium batts
  18. Thanks for reviving this thread. Any more news on this? Are the old ones coming back?
  19. You'll be fine in Sydney with 24 and 26. Probably your 20 as well. North Head is not great for 26 but you probably won't go there, maybe?
  20. Hi Steve hope you're well mate. Try this. Close the app by double clicking the home button and swiping the app upwards so it's properly closed. Reopen it and go to "TX Type" then Enable All. All the Lectro info should come back. Cheers Mega
  21. Its easy to see if the pilot tone is bypassed. It shows a "b" in the top left of the screen if it's bypassed. "P" is pilot enabled. I I agree with the others, if you're hearing hash when the tx is off, it's most likely the pilot is bypassed. Menu and up button will toggle through enable/disable. That should fix the problem, if not, it's broken and needs to go for service.
  22. Larry, thanks for all your wonderful help over the years. You have personally helped me so much and for that I'm grateful. Congratulations and best wishes. If you visit Australia, contact me and I'll buy you lunch! Regards Peter Mega
  23. I don't see why it would be a problem. If it sounds good, use it. People are happy to watch crappy pictures shot on dinky cams, phones, CCTV cameras so why would a little bit of distortion on car sound effects be an issue. I imagine it gives a throaty sound to the exhaust which a lot of cars do naturally anyway. If its on dialogue, then it's a different story. Regards
