  1. I often use the ta3 outputs for hops and IFB on my MixPre 10II. X1/2 are usually just mapped to L/R anyway. L/R are balanced outputs, so they may actually work better for some transmitters.

I do not know the vocopro system at all, so I can't tell you if it can accept a standard signal instead of a mic. Try it out and see.

  2. I keep my transmitters in the case on the right. It is an Apache case which is a Pelican knock-off you can find cheap here in the US.
My lav supplies are in 2-drawer cases made by Craftsman or DeWalt (same cases, different colors).
The cases come apart in 2 drawer units. I usually throw one or two on the cart.

Than again I remember using phrases like "jipped" "off the reservation" "chinese fire drill", etc frequently many years ago without regard to their disperagement of ethnic groups.

We also forget that phrases like “long time, no see” and “no can do” were mocking Chinese pidgin. And how many times do we hear “scum bag” and “bugger” and “sucks” used in everyday conversation.

  4. This weekend, I was at a gear swap when I stumbled across this shotgun mic from the 1960s. The ElectroVoice  644 CardioLine. The only thing I know about them is that they are a dynamic shotgun! Does anybody know anything about these?

  5. I would also love to hear if anyone has info on how this show was done. It was fun to watch, but coordination must have been a nightmare.

When the shirts came off in the last few episodes, you can clearly see the lav wires taped up the spine and down into the waistline.

I did this on my first reality show many years ago and was raked over the coals by the AD. He wanted to hear and record EVERYTHING. Yeah but modesty… NO BUTS.

From the other end, i was offered a contract to appear on a reality competition show (that I can’t mention due to an NDA) and the contract clearly states that production can put cameras and mics anywhere, including bathrooms, without notifying you. That, and other onerous clauses, convinced me not to sign.

  7. On an XL cart it is easy to remove the wheel assembly. Once out, they just pry open.

Unfortunately, the XL carts use snap ring mounts. The original cart uses M10 stems.

i designed and 3D printed M10 assemblies to use threaded casters.

I am not a 3D printing expert, but it works great printed on my Ender 3 S1. Others have used my file and the wheels don’t fit tightly.

Some have just used epoxy in the existing assembly to keep their new casters tight.
