  1. Thanks very much for your input, John! Very helpful. I am assuming, from what you said, that the CS-M1 is also not as strong as the CS-3e at picking out dialogue from greater distance?
  2. I'm looking into getting the CS-M1 for video. What was the issue w/ using it outside - the wind screen was fussy/noisy? Did you find a solution to that? I'm mainly going to be shooting in outdoor and uncontrolled environments. Also, how is the range on the CS-M1? Say, compared to a CS-3e?
  3. Thanks for your replies. All helpful. Have either of you tried the CS-M1 in comparison?
  4. Thanks- this video is helpful. Only thing is, he road tests the two at pretty close range. Curious if others have explored quality dropoff at greater distances. I know the CS-3e does very well and wondering how the CS-M1 compares. Thanks!
  5. I've been looking for a shotgun that will perform well in a variety of environments, has good off-axis rejection, and excels at picking up voices from a greater-than-normal distance. I've had my eye on the Sanken CS-3e, but I'm curious how the CS-M1 compares.
