  1. Hey Matt, Does the bag cart fold up at all? I really like how compact the case cart becomes when folded. Great work, look forward to seeing what else you come up with.
  2. It does take a little getting used to, but now that I've gotten used to the Stingray harness I could never go back to the Orca/Versa-Flex combo I was using. The Orca bag doesn't have six mounting points to use the Stingray harness as it's intended, you could rig something up but I feel like it would make the Stingray harness less effective. I went back to using the original Stingray bag for my 633 and it's worked alright, I do feel like the new versions of the Stingray make it easier to clip into with the additional D ring mounting points and the D rings the flow along the top side of the bag. I'll probably pick up one of the Stingray Junior bags for a small run and gun kit.
  3. I've narrowed it down to the 633 firmware download link that isn't working for me. 644 and 688 links seem to work just fine.
  4. I just went to the Sound Devices website and the download page is unavailable. If you downloaded the firmware but haven't loaded it yet you may want to hold off. The amateur detective in me smells a bug.
  5. I know we all support our usual suspects as much as possible, but when I need a quick replacement cable sometimes Guitar Center is a quick in and out spot to get what you need. This shouldn't be surprising considering today's corporate attitude towards their employees, but my money will now be going elsewhere. http://m.huffpost.com/us/news/guitar-center
  6. Nobody puts baby in the corner, but they never did say anything about the shower.
  7. Reviving this thread, I'm heading to Argentina in a week and wanted to know if there were frequencies that worked better than others. I currently own Lectro Block 21 and 22, can rent if needed. Thanks in advance.
  8. I know what all of my Epic DP's are getting for an early Christmas gift. Thanks for the heads up Pat.
  9. Ditto. But make sure you cover up the low cut and the pad switches with some gaff tape as recommended by Chris.
  10. My issue isn't with prepping the camera, I'm all set after spending a couple hundred bucks on timecode and audio cables. We all know the plethora of issues sound has with Reds, it's been discussed at great length here. We also know you love your camera, and that's great too.
  11. I've shot with enough Reds to know I'd rather have an Arri on set.
  12. Are you set up across town? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Smart move, the update has already been pulled down due to a bug with aux 3 and 4 routing.
  14. Even if you find cases for your NP-1's, we're required by law to carry on any lithium ion batteries in the main cabin. I usually keep them taped up in my 1510 case with my gear. Bummer that your son couldn't at least get them and carry them on with him though. I would love to find cases or even a cover for the contacts if anyone makes them.
  15. Please eliminate Mother Nature in the background and fix our screw up....... For twenty bucks. http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/cwg/4862214939.html
  16. So pumped to be able to fit my Stingray inside my Pelican 1510. Cory does a great job with the mod, you can barely tell that it was restitched!
  17. How long is the turn around? I'm definitely interested.
  18. I'm using a Versa-Flex BHS-2. So far so good.
  19. From a couple weeks ago in the favelas above Rio. It's pretty crazy where this job will take you sometimes.
  20. Yeah, lesson learned, figured I'd fess up and take my medicine. I think I was clucking like a chicken not screaming, must have been where I went wrong.
  21. I ended up taking the unit into the shop and found out my transmitter was in IFB mode, everything is functioning perfectly now. Thanks guys.
  22. Had a bit of an international customs adventure recently. I was booked late on a multi city job, I tried getting my kit on the carnet but apparently it was too late as it was "already completed". The first couple stops were easy, when asked what was in the case I just explained that I was working on a documentary film. And I was, to a degree. We arrived in Moscow, and we decided that all of our camera gear that was on the carnet would go with our guy traveling on his Brazilian passport as to avoid any issues. Seemed like a good idea, until I got stopped by Boris when I tried to wheel my kit out of the no claims area because of my Pelican. He pointed to the claim area, insisting that I have to claim my kit. Once we got over there I gave him my standard "documentary film, labor of love" schtick that was working at every other stop. Not Russia. I sat in the customs area with my producer for 30 minutes going back and forth with the two customs officials about what my gear was for, why I was in Russia, why I had the gear, and they were insisting that my kit had to stay and I could grab it on my way out of the country. Only problem was my flight out was at a different airport, and I highly doubt there would be a lot left in the kit had it stayed there. Finally, the senior looking customs official said "officially, there's nothing else I can do." My producer quickly replied, "what about unofficially?" The two officials had a conversation that lasted about two minutes, led my producer into an office with no windows, he came out $200 lighter and my kit came with us. Found out later that there was a $500 line item in the budget for Russian customs so we got off cheap. Moral of the story, ALWAYS get your kit on the carnet!
  23. Dredging this thread up, as my "new" 411a will not pass audio when the pilot is engaged. I tried changing channels, making very slight changes once I have my set tuned, nothing doing. Is there a factory reset function on the receiver that would bring me back to the original settings? Or do I bring the unit back to my trusted vendor for a look see with a good chance it's going back to Lectrosonics?
