It always wonders me why the white and red current cable needs to be exposed like that. There most be some solution for it, or at least wrap it in some black.
If you really are in need for Google Maps, you can surf on your iPhone to http://maps.google.com and safe it as a link on the iPhone desktop. There you have a HTML5 version of Maps.
Up until now it works flawless here. iPhone 4s. No Crashes or errors. Google is bringing "Maps" back to the app-store in the near future and check this site for coupons for Passbook: http://www.passsource.com/
If its like a documentary or something I would never "leave" the camera. You never know. I used to do this a lot and I found the most easiest way to just "wire" the main console with a TX. Fade it in when needed, fade it out when not. Of course you could use the zoom as a redundancy there as well, in case of dropouts or so.
Usually I put a tx on a PA aux. There's your clean feed. Booming on such occasions when following your cameraman gets you all sorts of shifts in phasing, gets a bit useless like that.
Scratch track = guide audio, for later re-syncing
Tethered = With an umbilical cord, old fashioned cable between recorder and camera
XLR = 3 pin audio connector
1/8 connector = mini jack
I use the Soshine 9 volts 600 mAh. Beside the benefit of the mAh increase (about one and a half hours to 2 more compared to iPowers in my Micron Tx), the chargers have an internal AC/DC converter, so no bulky power adapters anymore!
Hi Jeff, with the update, do you recommend the ips-app for ios now? I remember you didnt recommend it in an other thread because of the older software on the forum?
How old are you? When I was 24 I entered Canada on a "working holiday visa", basically a working permit for a year. I believe it was up to the age of 30. Don't now if it still exist but you can check it out. If so it gives you some time (a year) to figure things out for permenant residence.
According to the manual http://www.erc.ndhu.edu.tw/ezfiles/48/1048/img/1692/UWP-C1.pdf
