  1. The BP-TRX will come in a solo version, a "timecode kit" (2x BP-TRX with accessories like TC cables, exact cables/bundle will be disclosed soon) and a "deluxe kit" (hard case, DUO-RX, 2X BP TRX, 2x W.Lav Pro black and a bunch of cables, exact details will be disclosed soon). On our website, the new BP-TRX not yet, but we will post it on the site close to release. We have service and RMA handling in Europe (Just outside Amsterdam NL) North America (L.A.) and Asia, If there is something that needs to be addressed it can be done fairly quickly, with shipping/cargo obviously in mind. Generally speaking the local dealer's service centre is the 'in-between' in EU, per EU regulations (point of purchase is the first responsable for RMA dealings), but so you know, we have local headquarters to deal with this sort of stuff. Not as of yet, i have to check if that is doable, I don't think so. Currently we have the HD-TX with a balanced XLR input (and Phantom power). Exactly how you are used to from the other brands; you can jam the BP-TRX with any TC box/recorder (SMTPE TC) via the TRS output/input. The HD-TX does not have TC. RX is one to one receiver mode (call it traditional mode, one RX to one TX), IEM is "multicast" mode, one TX can be send out to up to 3 BP-TRX's which you set to IEM, so hook up a headphone and you have an IEM. Not at the moment, obviously if I do can, I will post it.
  2. Not released as of yet; expectation is around the end of summer/Q3.
  3. Yes they updated the design in the F8n (mark II).

For a one stop solution this would be great. on the other hand, NDI is an open standard. No licencing fees or proprietary hardware needed.

Licence and actual proprietary hardware (Broadway, Brooklyn, Ultimo chips, etc). The "bottom end" Behringer Dante card costs about 500 USD (Brooklyn based, I believe), so that is some kind of giveaway how low it can go, since Behringer has affordable in their DNA.

It is being used as such yes. NDIhx is the lower bandwith standard (I believe between 50/100 mb per sec), the Standard NDI is like 200/300 mb per sec, so some calculation is needed obviously, but it is designed with your example in mind. NDIhx would be more than enough for set preview i would say. Atomos moitors now even have modular NDI receivers/converters, so one could just simple attach one of these to a monitor for a neat solution.

NDI (sort of a dante for video, not exactly, but it ticks a lot of the same boxes) Would be ideal to distribute video over IP on sets. over cat5/networks.
  8. I had to double check if I was on JWsoundGroup.net or some wedding photography forum, whilst scrolling trough this topic... What is up next? Lightning advice and, hey why not, catering tips?
  9. It is not a device; you should be able to select "mic input" or something in the audio tab/driver/realtek/whatever it is called on your PC. On every windows machine it is a bit different. Btw; you did plug it in the TRRS input of your computer right? It is not an USB mic.
  10. There is, audio over IP. What topic starter mentioned in open post, and a couple of times after that. The "problem" is that is kinda costly if your current system is not supporting that yet. Hence, the question how to solve it with remote antennae.
  11. Not much fun in explaining a pun!
  12. And I think you have to give up control then as well. My take is there are about 2 options for controlled "remote RF"; or a long cable for the antennae (fiber or coax), or some Audio over IP route (RX box on set). @Jan McL is/was kinda the pioneer here on the forum regarding CAT5/6 audio btw. But again, you loose the control.
  13. Yeah so combine that knowledge with the fact that your antennae will be closer anyways with the "cheaper" RF over fiber brand you linked above, and real world loss might be negligible.
  14. Interesting find! A quick look at the specs it says 75 ohms, but people using that for our systems with good results anyways; See this article for example; https://wavreport.com/2017/08/04/tutorial-diy-microphone-antenna-distro/ And specifically Jacob Varley's setup @ 75 ohms.
  15. RoF (radio over fiber) is an "analogue" solution and works over kilometres.
  16. AFAIK this is already possible with the Dante routing; since 4 channel RX is part of the multislot protocol/standard.
  17. The world is bigger than narrative production; I can see benefit in a 32bit float workflow for docu shoots and reality (the real one, not scripted). I did my share of docs in harsh (near war zone) conditions, so there I could have had some benefit from it. Edit; Obviously i mean a potential end-to-end wireless to recording 32 bit. Now there is no point using wireless with the mixpre or zoom f6 and have the 32bit benefit.
  18. Also with the BP-TRX; if you put one TRX in RX mode, it can both receive and control the other TRX (actually, every other Deity TX). So yeah, both the DUO-RX and the BP-TRX can remote control any TX of the connect line. No an app will not come and was never the idea; the philosophy is that we want dedicated buttons, knobs, menus, screens to do the things. The screen is small but it is so straight forward, very intuitive and easy to navigate.
  19. The exact preamp specs will be disclosed when we are close to launch. About the limiter (switchable on/off by the way); I just asked the engineering team for the specs, so I have to get back to you on that, in the meantime, you can check out @Allen Williams review of the HD-TX, which has basically the same analogue limiter. Limiter test starts at 10:31:
  20. Are you suggesting that Deity is underpaying and putting children at work..? I can assure you that neither is the case. So again, just like you did with the whole border/custom discussion, please don't derail the whole topic again.
  21. Indeed "overseas" manufacturing is not uncommon, even in our industry (the aforementioned Audio ltd. A10 series is made in Taiwan, for example). Also, keep in mind, that the world is bigger the US and EU, and the film and television (content creation) in other regions are getting bigger and bigger as well. So, what is local anyways..? 😉
  22. I guess for devices without 4 channel support via superslot; so you will have 2 channels via superslot, 2 via the 5pin mini xlr.
  23. 1. 5v input via USB-C 2. The mother company indeed is Aputure (Aputure lightning and Deity Microphones are the "children"), local branches (Deity) are incorporated in Almere (Amsterdam) The Netherlands for Europe , And Los Angeles USA. So all warranty and repair are handled according to local legislation (and dealt with locally), also stock and warehousing is respectively handled from those two locations for the US and Europe. Design and development is literally a world wide endeavor.
