I worked as a cameraman for over 13 years in various news TV stations around the country. I then went into sound after a bad experience with a soundman. I am now headed back home to Houston to be with the family.

  1. Got mine for a documentary and it worked great. You just get some velcro and slap it to the back, side, or top of the camera. It is so small the DP can not complain. If you are careful to turn off the unit after finishing, I have had the batteries last for 2 days but a set of AAA'S can last a days worth of shooting easily. One note: when I re jam the unit I like to turn it off then on just to make sure that the jam takes. I just like to being careful.
  2. Thanks stating the obvious but these are thing I had not experienced. . But now I know I Mike.
  3. Alright the inside story is that I got new cables and removed the ground on pin one. *I changed the highest frequency to channel one and the lowest to channel 2. *I also checked the Frequency chart for inter modulation. * Also my SRb is also being powered by batteries and not the power distribution on the camera. The reason being that Hawk wood v mount batter distribution. "notes that it can create a ground loop that causes a hum/buzz or on wireless. Everything is working fine now. Thanks for the responses guys. I really appreciate it! Abe
  4. I am send it through my 664. You set it to send to bothe the left and right. Also, I talked to lectrosonics today and they say that you need to have the higher frequency on Ch1 and the lower to Ch2. Which is the reverse of what you do with SRa. They say that this could be the cause. What do you think?
  5. Hello Peter Checked them, they are bothe on "+". Should I switch? Abe
  6. Hello, this is my first post but I need some help. I'm on a shoot with a Canon c300 and I am using a lectrosonics srb wireless receiver for my hop. I get an email from the editor telling me that the audio sounds low/bad. I have been sending audio from my talents mic to bothe channels on the c300 camera. It seems that this is causing a cross phase problem. When you switch from sending audio to chanel one to bothe channels. You'll see the audio levels on the camera drop by half. Has anyone else had this problem?
  7. Hey all, just jumping on the band wagon. Heading back to Houston, Texas after a couple years in NYC. Hope to get going fast, once back home. Have 5 wireless, boom, mixer, 4-ch time code recorder, and speeckee spanish . . ..
  8. I am new in New York and looking for work. After having worked in broadcasting for over 10 years, I find myself wanting to specialize in audio. I worked as a shooter and DP for various production and broadcast organizations but now find my self wanting to go into audio because of the sheer lack of qualified sound people out there. I got tired of seeing poor mic placement, and people that do not know what a mic can and can not do. My rig is still evolving but here it is. I have a PSC M4 (4 channel mixer), brake away cable, 5 wireless mics (Lectrosonics 21 block and Sony), K-tek 8 foot boom, Sennhieser ME66/K6 shotgun with deadcat (Softie Windscreen), ZOOM H4n digital recorder, and an assortment of adapters. My reel is at: Thalhimer Sit-Ins If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Best Regards, Abe cell: 917-975-1812
