track names are stored in the meta-data not the file-name. there simply isn't enough room in the file name to keep the names compatible with eventual EDL workflows in post.
AVID will read the track names just fine from the meta-data.
I use mono too because PT can not handle poly directly and will split everything to mono on import anyway. so does avid. only FCP can play back poly directly.
ever checked out the power consumption of the mix-8? I heard it's pretty high and you need seperate power. the beauty if the cl-9 is that it only need a single usb connection and no power.
my point wan't about cost. someone said that BNC will most likely be easier to substitute if it breaks. my point was that BNC gear is about the most fragile piece of equipment on a film set. In my subjective POV the camera assistants spend half the day finding bad BNC connections and/or fixing them. With that in mind I use lemo any time instead of bnc.
I must say that the very first thing that breaks on a film set are the bnc cables. Second day of shooting and at least 1-2 cable drums are on th way back to camera rental. :-D
sdi yes. but hdmi? never heard of that. interesting.
I thought Hdmi is dvi plus audio.
also wondering how you jam sync an EX1 to send that TC to the BM box...
dont understand the wifi idea. ever tried to transfer 4GB or more via wifi? takes forever...
also: why TC on BNC? alexa, ambient, SD are all on lemo....
