  1. Since their introduction fall 2011, there has been some buzz around these new wireless systems, but I found no-one really tested them.. These are not easy to lay hands on in the Netherlands, so I was wondering if some of our respectable UK or EU-based sound-friends really field-tested and/or are using these systems.. http://www.audiowireless.co.uk/news/ thx,Diego
  2. Nice bag Vincent! welcome to the user-group! What are you going to use this bag for? ;-)
  3. I find the coating of the Schoeps CMIT5u leaves something to be desired.. Having said that, some people pay topdollar for "reliqued" (did I spell this correctly?) equipment (like fender guitars..) .. Consider the battle scars just that, giving the mic a charactaristic appearance.
  4. shipping this handtruck to my place will cost me US $679.27
  5. That is the tidiest bag I've ever seen with the most upright antennae ever!! sweet..
  6. You don't mind the antennae poking in your wrist while mixing? probably not otherwise you would have configured your bag differently..
  7. I never bothered to test-drivespeeds on the machine, so I was a little puzzled. Thanks for the replies guys..
  8. Hello, I replaced my internal factory-hdd with a Samsung 470 SSD.. Drive test results show a speed of 22.3 mb/s, which seems kinda low to me.. What typical speed could one expect in a 788t from a SSD which is capable of very high read/write speeds (200mb/s)... thankyou, Diego

  10. Try using the Audio Ltd's "error fob" to switch them through clothes: you'll have a blast (not)..
  11. http://www.aemstore.nl/ - they have a webstore for location sound stuff.. http://noyzboyz.nl- great customer support, no webstore.. nice guys!
  12. perhaps it doesn't have anything to do with it but a month ago the input-ic of input 1 was replaced. The input died while starting up the 788 and the machine went bazerk.. no other word for it.. No recording possible, it looked like the 788 switched on and of by itself.. couldn't stop this any other way then removing all power. This problem seems solved as the input has been repaired, but now since a few weeks my 788t froze two times while starting up giving a whining tone through the headphones... it never happened before on this particular machine.. mmm.. Luckily I was not recording anything, so no files were lost.
  13. It clearly reads in your original post that you allready own the machine..?

    Used NPs?

gheghe.. I use IDX np's and added two Swits.. Can't go wrong with Swit. Two get my 788t/Cl8 through a typical day (10 - 12 hours). I turn my recorder off during breaks.
  15. sometimes I need confirmation for my own assumptions. thanks
  16. Thanks for clearing this up Michael and Robert.. The type of scenes Michael desribes I've done a few times, a thumper would have been very helpful.
  17. I'm not really familiar with using a 'thumper'.. Would anyone care to explain the typical application for these kind of speakers? Thumper thumping during dialog? wow, just as a tempo-reference for music that'll be added in post? Thanks in advance, Diego
  18. [thread hijack] Tom, I'm intrigued: Korean born, dutch name, living in Hawaii married to a lady from Israel.. wow..
  19. I bought mine at: http://www.filmsas.nl/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=19&osCsid=f0fc8679cc8d9f51c18eac4c87010d62 it's in the Netherlands, Europe, probably not much of use when you're on the other side of the ocean.. The EMS-cases are nice, tight cases.. I cannot compare them to other brands that make ABS-flightcases.. I don't know if they would survive a flight on a plane, but it never was my intention to take them on a plane anyway.. I chose them because of the formfactor, and the idea of modularity appealed to me.. If I would need to expand in the future, that's possible by just adding higher side panels, but you allready knew that. Good luck.. there's a picture of my EMS-cart on Jef's soundcart-gallery
  20. After a few days of working with the CL-wifi app I must say WOW! what a wonderful tool. Doing a one-man-band gig right now, where it is not necessary to carry my bag around all the time. I leave my bag in a corner, setup the gain structure for the scene, start the app and off I go, just a pole in my hands and the Iphone strapped to my arm to look at the meters while booming. It's a big back-saver for me!
  21. Okay, I reproduced the 'cannot find ..' problem by choosing WEP64-security... Seems like a bug that leaves me wide open to other setmembers and beyond to connect to my 788t... Diego
  22. I got it to work today: I changed the SSID again but disabled the WEP64-security and voila... connected.. Strange ey?
  23. Hey Matt, thanks for the response. Done all that and a few things more, like uninstalling/re-installing the app.. changed SSID's three times..still the app cannot find 788t/cl-wifi.. It worked (except for the takelist bug) with app.version 1.00
