  1. Im sure this has been answered but I can not find it. Im trying to get some clarity about what to do when 600mhz is out of the picture. Generally everything i have is in block 470-22, however i have a lot of lectro IFB gear in 24 and 3 channels of boom TX in 25. Anyway, I just read the following, which leads me to believe i may still be able to use these blocks, just limiting which frequencies I can use within the blocks. Am I accurate here? Quoted text below:

The FCC has provided for a transition period of up to 39 months to help smooth the transition as wireless microphone operators obtain new equipment and transition out of the repurposed 600 MHz service band (617-652 MHz / 663-698 MHz) to other spectrum. During the transition period, which ends on July 13, 2020, these operators may continue to access the spectrum that has been repurposed to 600 MHz service licensees under certain conditions.  Specifically, wireless microphone users may operate on the 600 MHz service spectrum – the 617-652 MHz and 663-698 MHz frequencies – only if they do not cause harmful interference either to the existing broadcast television operations (which also must cease operating in the band no later than January 13, 2020) or to the 600 MHz service wireless licensees’ operations in the band.  Wireless microphone users also must accept harmful interference from those broadcast television and 600 MHz service licensees. FCC 14-50, FCC 15-100,  FCC 15-99,  FCC 15-140

  2. Maybe it's because I'm the oldest millennial that I take offense to millennial bashing, but still, I am a condescending prick, so I guess I have the best of all worlds here.

Edit: I've also been to a library and didn't have a cell phone until I was 18 so I dont know where I belong, but the Gen Xers dont want me either.

  3. So.... how did people actually use the Nagra 1 well without a meter? Was it all by ear. Very cool thread for us youngsters who missed the good old days. Actually being able to think about sound as a part of the process as opposed to "wire everyone we aren't going to make a plan" - I long for those shows.

Oh I didn't realize this thread was 12 pages long. Apologies if my question has been answered.

  4. X3 users, I have a question for you:

when you route inputs to tracks, can you select pre or post fader? I'm interested in the unit for its number of outputs of course, but I would like the ability to create several mix minuses to send to different outputs.

Example, l bus is mix, then I want to say, send a mixminus to 2 earwigs, say each a mix minus so the characters with the earwigs don't hear themselves. Is this possible? This is something I currently use my 2 auxes on my 788T for.

    Thanks!

  5. Awesome, thanks so much guys. Jeff, your cart shown there was actually the original inspiration for what I want to do. I also have a BDS system on my follow cart to power chargers, lights, etc off of a 12v source, so I plan to integrate the cabling for that into the cart. I Also plan to build a more logical storage space for my carpets and mats.

I'll post pictures when finished, provided I'm a success.

  6. Hello All,

If this has been addressed somewhere else please let me know, I don't want to be redundant.

I'm starting the process of building a custom follow cart. I would like to build the cart out of T slot 8020, with rack mounted drawers, 2 'smart wheels' and 2 dumb wheels, like a magliner.

The advise I'm looking for is the best way to attach wheels and rack rail to T slotted aluminum. I'm looking to get the same wheels as my magliner, basically what I've attached below. Has anyone attached these to T slot 8020? Looking for success stories.

    Non Smart Wheels: http://www.filmtools.com/8ripnca.html

    'smart' wheels: http://www.filmtools.com/8swpnca.html

I know I can get rack rail anywhere, and it seems simple enough, attach it like I would another 80/20 profile. This is what I figure I'll use - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Raxxess-Rack-Rails--Pair--100996115-i1427116.gc?country=us&currency=usd&isfullsite=1&source=4WWRWXGP&gclid=CJb1wM2SpMcCFdCRHwodAw0LNA

Any advise from a similar project welcome!

    Thanks,

    J

  7. I got an xbox one as early as I could get my hands on one, and have used it to replace my entire media center in my living room. I am not a cable subscriber, I get my content mostly through Netflix and Hulu, plus blu rays and iTunes. I have to say, the One is very cool. It streamlines a media PC. I'm not surprised they're making original content, they no doubt will try to compete with streaming services in the future, and if the Xbox One is a sucess they'll have the perfect platform.

Just remember, this is why they shouldn't be able to cut rate for "web" content!
