Alas they only had the thicker sheets and only two packets of that in stock. If you just need it for RM11's like you posted on another forum. Medi-fix tape is pretty good. Lower profile to.

The chemist on level two in Broadway shopping centre is the cheapest I have found them. They usually stock both the thinner and thicker stuff. I have to go to broadway latter today. Will check if they have any in stock.

With recording set to stop 1min before battery dies I get roughly 3hr 20 using Panasonic Envelop Pro before the recording stops. I then get a further 20-40 minutes before the batteries completely die.

Damn Steven those are some ugly boots. I'd probably call you over for the "boots of Frankenstein" and take a photo of you holding them. That photo would go up in the security lunch room for all to have a good laugh at. Sometimes I can be a jerk like that.

Alas I think we all have had to work with people like that. My mantra on these occasions is "calm waters, dolphins and shit". That usually gives me a childish giggle. I am also not above apologising for the producers behaviour and letting people know that, not all crews act in such a manner. Generally when the members of the public agree to be on camera, they are doing us a favour and not the other way around. Their experience should be pleasant. Cheers Nate.

As a long time SRba/b cam link user, ext battery life and weight was a major point in not switching over. For me the RX200 addresses this issue over previous Zax receivers that I was never quiet convinced on. I am now going to have to battery change mid day, but honestly this isa welcome trade offs.
-
As mainly a bag sound peep I would like to thank Zax for the RX200. Thus far I have only used it as receiver in the bag for 742 on a TVC. Worked perfectly and I didn't have to dip into one of my other Zax channels. I imagine I will use it about 50/50 742 receiver/cam link. I am also confident it will pay itself off within a year in my market. The other advantage I see is the RX200 will make it easier to quickly remote a channel when required. Cheers Nate.

Thanks Jason. That is around the same price mark I have found them. The joys of our dollar being so crap at the moment.

I also use the powerpax holders. Twelve and four pack. Been using them a couple of years now and they haven't damaged any of my batteries. They are orange, so maybe(?) slightly different plastic. Their 9v holder did damage my Ipowers however. Jason where did you find your AA holders in Australia. I've only seen them for crazy prices lately. Oh and I hope the batteries are all flat in your photo or we have a completely different system and it may be for the best we don't share.

I have a couple that I brought more as a back up or for steady cam rigs. Without using or charging them in at least a couple of months, I used them to test something the other day. For the life of me I can't remember what I was testing exactly. The TC was way off, as is to be expected. The battery was about two thirds full. Couldn't tell you what state it was in prior to last use, but I am pretty sure I hadn't charged it after a half days use. Don't know if any of us have owned them long enough for the batteries to go completely flat from inactivity.

Matt and Simon, thank you . This makes me wish I did more green screen work. Simple and ingenious. Would love to see in operation, shortening or extending the pole and keeping cable tension on the pole whilst thegreen sleeve is on. The bit about using the pull loop with you finger for tension whilst booming made me smile, as this is a method I was taught early on to correct accidental cable slackness on the pole mid take. Oh and I may be a bit of a panamic fanatic, so yeah there's that to.

Thanks José. I have been contemplating getting a LT with my next zax purchase but until I get a few more channels deeper in the Zax world I think I will continue to use my Lectro SMa for when I need a small form factor TX. Seems LT and SMa have similar battery life. On a regular(ish) job the cast are often wearing crop tops/cheerleader type costumes, where the TX is usually mounted to the bra strap under the arm/rib area. I have made up specialty pouches for this purpose, for both LA and SMa. The girls have all aired their preference for the SMa due to form factor and comfort. This in part is due to the width of the unit.

Thanks Rich for the 1.3mm tip. Being a metric country there is a better chance of finding something in millimetres. Here in Australia I had to buy an expensive set of allen keys, as I couldn't find anyone who sold any in a single .05 form.

The little doll/toy thingy hanging off the front of the bag is the kind of personal touch that gets my vote for favourite bag on JW. Tough guy military and cutesy all in on go, I say a win for Steven. The plat is a bonus touch.

I wouldn't say a lot smaller, but it is smaller non the less. The hooks are about half the size. They are also a little less scratchy on the skin. I only had hook side left to compare. The one on the left is standard velcro, the right one is low linting velcro. Sorry not that easy to tell a great deal by my photo
-
Alas I don't. I got it from my local haberdashery store. I need go there early next week to pick up some material to make a cover for my 742. Will try to remember to take a photo of the box the velcro comes in for you.
-
Look good Rado. Really like the breathable material idea. I made some similar pouches that I use as bra rigs. In regards to to velcro have a look into quiet or low linting velcro. Much lower profile, better to use and easier to sew. For the extra dollar or so per meter it is well worth the extra cost. Cheers Nate.

Good quick fix to a less then friendly situation. Was wondering where you hid the TX. Also a good reminder why it is always a very good idea to be polite, friendly and understanding of the people who actually work day to day in the locations we do our stuff. They are more often then not the ones who have the true knowledge to make our lives much more pleasant.

I use SRB's and QRX200's and my QRX always shows more activity. This is the same with whips on the XR or PSC SMA multi. The results change slightly using a micplexer. I've always assumed Zax are a little more sensitive and disregarded a bar or two, without noticing any real world difference.

I didn't have a car for several years at the start of my career and it is doable. Jason summed it up perfectly. Now that I have a licence I am more then happy to return the goodwill and give other crew a lift. As others have mentioned it limits the kit you can take. Basically you only pack what you can carry. When I travel to a gig these days by public transport I am always worried I don't have something I need.
-
That should work fine. Manually hit record on the 742 and you've got a back up. I tested it to use as a small recorder to collect atmos's while on holidays this week in the country. Alas I forgot to pack it.

Glen from my tests in my home I was getting about 6-10 feet before i was getting dropouts. Tried it in different rooms and sometimes I could get a little more, but not much. I only tested with one frequency, so not an overly thorough test.

I just linked this thread on an Australian Soundie forum. And yeah most of us are pretty chilled.
