  1. I seem to have a hangup with putting my zmt4 to sleep and unable to wake or back to on. When i send the signal from the nova to make the transmitter off, setting it to "wake" and switching to "on" brings the transmitter back but it's almost as if there is no voltage for the mic. I see green as if the transmitter is back on but no audio. My only fix is to go back to the transmitter, power off and back up again and all is back to normal operation. Anyone else have this happen? my zmt-x comes back to full operation with "wake" and my zmt3's comes back to full operation with "on".
  2. This came up in another discussion thread and i was curious to know if any nova operators are using built in noise reduction. This is new to me, and It seems like something plausible for camera tracks for clients who edit straight from camera with unaffected tracks as backup, etc. does anyone here do something similar? What might be your workflow?
  3. Can you post a photo of the charger you have? Not sure i can help but i can try - i have 2x single chargers that are dif types and i can take a look
  4. Checking to see if anyone here might know if it is possible to turn off the audible beep alarm on a sony f5 at the headphone jack. I see system menu settings for alarm trigger parameters but not for audio level of alarm specifically as i rtfm
  5. ...followup - bingo - WAKE from nova did it for the zmtx, whereas ON works for my older zmt3’s (as well as WAKE Now that i had time to test). I’ve used ON so much out of habit with all my previous transmitters I forgot WAKE was even an option. Thanks John!
  6. Just checked - version 3-19 on the zmtx and will try wake today this transmitter in question was purchased new recently so 3-19 was from the factory and from what i see 3-17d is most current? I will check in with howy monday morn but thanks John for reply
  7. Wondering if there might be a known issue as i just ran into this today. I have 1x zmtx and 2x zmt3’s on talent and TRX OFF-ON set to LOW (OFF) works perfect at the transmitters but when bringing back to ON, i cant seem to get the zmtx to come back on without going to the unit and powering off and back on physically. Zmt3’s come back as normal. All settings same across all trx’s. Will have to check on fw revs after shoot but curious if anyone else ran into this or might have suggestions i may be overlooking?
  8. Mode 3 or 6 on lectro transmitters to taste as i believe ifb mode does not work transmitting to sennheiser receivers. off topic from the original post but i do use in the reverse sennheiser plugon transmitters with stick mics and get satisfactory results with 411 receivers in the same modes above. Not feature film quality for sure but beats some lower grade alternatives with live and eng stuff
  9. Thank you this i did not know! I always thought I was lacking that by not being all sennheiser
  10. This is the only hangup on using lectro transmitters vs paired sennheisers- the loss of pilot tone and no squelch. there is a risk of listeners getting blasted with stray rf if a battery fails
  11. I use an smqv in mode 6 for exactly this purpose and i have found this to be the most robust and range reliable setup for sennheiser iems with a compact transmitter
  12. I have been battling touch faders on a control surface showing erratic behavior, dropping in and out during recording automation, fighting me during movements etc. I had been dealing with this off and on for months. Finally got around last couple days to hardcore troubleshoot. Got online with tech support, resinstalled supporting software, hardware tests, network troubleshooting...until late last night when i thought all hope was lost and ready to send these in for repair, i finally discovered the problem: I have had this since the 80's via my grandma as a gift. I have always kept it in the studio for maintaining contact with spiritual realms as well as a lighted indicator linked to the power conditioner powering studio speakers to indicate if they are on or off. It had never occurred to me that this thing was creating problems until running tests last night with speakers off and suddenly everything was working as it should. This plasma ball was spilling electrical energy all over the faders causing touch automation mayhem.
  13. Ah! Great key word suggestion thanks a ton
  14. Helping a client come up with a solution, curious if anyone here might have suggestions. I see mini boxes where HDMI in can be split to separate video and audio out. Looking to do the opposite and combine HDMI video and separate audio into combined HDMI out.

    ZMT-X S-Clip

Sorry if this has been posted here already but I believe this is fairly new. I wanted to share a photo of this new spring clip that is a modification of the previous plastic clips for ZMT and ZMT – X transmitters. fingers crossed i hope its durable long term. I believe much more comfortable on talent versus the previous zmt3 metal spring clips. I really dig it, nice work SGS

    Headset Mics

This h6 is spot on for this particular setup - multicam live switching live dj etc. seems like the perfect pro level solution. thank you!

    Headset Mics

Curious to know if anyone these days has a recommendation on current headsets for fitness instructors. I am helping out a friend who put together a kit for live streaming fitness instruction. I am aiming for the more professional recommendation for them versus the Google search $100 janky looking headsets with all sorts of failure points. My gut tells me DPA or countryman headsets with double ears. Trying to help him find a solution best for sweaty human contact. Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with these but so far I am recommending to them based on my experience with DPA and countryman Lavalier mics.
  18. That is some thing I’m looking into right now honestly. Originally I had A pre-formatted message with the invoice stating Credit card payments were an option to contact me for details. Personally I might just raise my rate a bit to cover fees now that I know how this works. I never expected payment like that to happen so quick. Hard to gauge how many of my clients might prefer this credit card option. That all makes sense that is good to know.
  19. I am sure there are people here like me who are creatures of habit - invoicing and receiving checks Job after job over the years and depositing checks every which way available. Today I billed for a job I did yesterday and was paid in 2 minutes after sending the invoice. This is for a client that might take 60+ days just for forgetting to pay the invoice. The funny thing is I didnt even realize the invoice (thru harvest) had the option for credit card payment already placed at the top for the client to see. For me this was a complete accident and it’s the fastest I’ve been paid in 20 years. regardless of what invoicing process in use, it appears credit card payment options are indeed a good thing
  20. ...6 years later on this topic and wanting to start 2021 with new invoicing software. I feel compelled to add here that Harvest has my vote after trying for 30 days. So grateful for this site and the jwsoundgroup google search. I really weighed out hard what I was looking for and explored a lot of suggestions here. various free trials etc. Old info here but still very relevant. Harvest seemed to check all the boxes for what i was looking for overall. For 20 years I was using MYOB AccountEdge, mostly out of habit. Probably not he most ideal for our line of work. Invoicing now is very refreshing!
  21. One thing for maximizing space inside is modifying the xlr to a right angle as compact as you can get it and factoring that into your measurements. With this i have had great success for mkh50’s and the rycote #10 but obviously would never work for a 416
  22. compared to a b6 and a lemo...this one looks to be a cakewalk. I know this has been discussed a bunch already but i feel like getting ahold of one, wiring it for a comtek... but use it with a sennheiser iem all kidding aside my thinking is people shouldnt avoid this fine product when it could be an easy mod (and i know op this is not at all your intention). It seems common practice for sound mixers to mod everything in their kit. it is near impossible for manufacturers to check every box on products for us or they would never make a profit
  23. This is the way. adapt to all the crazy signal flow. When it doesnt work we make it work, and in this case if it were me and the product at hand was important enough i would customize this with a ts connector to be compatible with my comteks and problem solved. But i know its personal preference
  24. this indeed for 216 comteks and trs adapters in the kit have always prevailed when i have run into the need to convert.
  25. Thank you those are the key words i was missing. Gonna try one this week
