  1. They are for sale now but we sold out our first shipment in 3 days. We have more on order from the Sanken U.S. distributor who says next shipment will be in about 4-6 weeks. I'll post when they arrive.
  2. Got the file to open on a different comp, yes there is some rubbing noise but it's very hard to offer any specific advice from a short sample. It could be loose clothing rubbing on the capsule or the cable. You just have to keep working on placement and isolation of the capsule, I would suggest using the Rycote Overcovers for the capsule. Good luck.
  3. Sorry there seems to be an issue on this comp with DLing the file.
  4. No that's not correct. The shield/ground and the white wire get tied together at the ground connection and the black wire goes to the tip for Sennheiser or the ring for Sony. The ring on the Sennheiser is for a line level input.
  5. Sony uses a different wiring configuration for their wireless mic input than Sennheiser. So a mic wired for Sennheiser 3.5mm TRS will not work with a Sony transmitter and the same the other way. Sony uses the ring of a tip-ring-sleeve connector for the audio input and everyone else uses the tip for audio. So for adding new mics you'll have to choose which system you want to use them with. You could have adapters made that would allow Sony transmitters to accept Sennheiser wired lavs to work and Sennheiser transmitters to work with Sony wired Lavs. My best advice is to choose which system you want to be the main one and choose to have new lavs wired for that one and use one adapter for all the other lavs you have now.
  6. Starting on Tuesday June 12th from 10am to 4 pm we'll have two of the new Sanken CS-M1 microphones available for demo. Production Sound Solutions 4549 Powerline Road, Oakland Park, Florida. RSVP not required, stop by and give a listen to this new breakthru microphone on your gear or ours. $895 is the price.
  7. I'm so glad that I have absolutely no clue about this issue or what you're talking about.

    Zoom F8n.

It's kind of hard to beat a mixer with a ton of iron transformers.

    Zoom F8n.

When the F8 came out 3 years ago we tested the F8 against the SD 552, 442 & 302, Zaxcom Nomad & Maxx and a couple of others that I can't recall. While not a scientific lab controlled test to be sure with an MKH 50 as the test mic, the concensus was the F8 was equal in sound to the 442 and they were tied for 1st place with the 552 running a close 2nd then the rest of the field.
  10. You're responding now to post I put up in December of last year? Why?
  11. Sennheiser wired lavs to work with Sony wireless? Easiest thing to do is open the connector and unsolder the wire going to the tip and solder to the ring and you're done. From the solder side here's the diagram: *Tip-short tab *Ring-long tab *Ground tab w/ cable clamps
  12. It doesn't have the low end of the 50 but it has better reach with a slightly narrower pattern.
  13. Gotham should have it in about two weeks or so.
  14. I have no experience with the 1e. You'll have to be the judge when you hear the M1. The LF gradual roll off is amazing below 100hz as it allows the voice to be above the ambience with out any artifacts. IMO, with in reason it sounds better than any other shotgun I've used or heard but that of course is personal opinion.
  15. Prepare to be pleasantly shocked & surprised, trust me on that.
  16. It does everything a 416 can do but it does it better although the pattern is a bit wider. Only time will tell.
  17. Coming in about 2 weeks, the 416 killer. The Sanken CS-M1 @ $895. It's 4" long and It's going to be a game changer.
  18. How far from the subject were the mics? They sound very similar at the given distance. Now move both back about 2-3 feet and listen for the difference.
  19. The XLR inputs are mic level only, for line level use the 1/4" TRS inputs.
  20. Phantom stays on until you turn it off. It makes no sense to have phantom turn off for a disable then you have to turn it back on for the next time you have to record on that track.
  21. A top of the head suggestion, buy an RE-20 disassemble it and have the outer shell spray painted or powder coated the color required. Then either put it back together or mount a condenser capsule in side.
  22. Actually JWsound is not the original, RAMPS was. Facebook is a lot like RAMPS was, an open discussion no holds barred group basically like the wild west. Only thing missing was gunfire. RAMPS=Rec Arts Movies Production Sound, on Google.
