  3. Hey Tom, I've been bugging Sound Devices for something like this for years. Great tool for Wireless Booms on Film/TV sets where our chances for drop outs are getting more frequent. So my couple questions.... Whats the record time per GB Can you turn off the "Backup Track" to get more record time What happens when you get to the end of the card, i.e. will it "Loop Record" like the Zaxcom or just stop recording Thanks again, I hope to convince the Mixer I work with to get a couple for the Boom Ops Andy
  4. Called Forest Lawn and it's being held at Church of the Hills 12:30.
  5. Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter says that Walt's memorial is at Forest Lawn today, Sept 6th at 12:30, but when I do a search on Forest Lawns website they have no info of it. Can someone confirm that it's still today at Forest Lawn? Thanks Andy
  6. Thanks for all suggestions, I downloaded the Abelton demo and will try to figure it out. As for the wrong forum, maybe the wrong section but not the wrong forum. I think we can all agree that the days of doing audio playback on a Nagra with a grease pencil and some sticky dots are over. 90% of audio playback on set is done with some type if computer be it laptop, full Pro Tools HD or some type of hard disk playback system. Maybe we can get a section devoted to Audio Playback.
  7. Not sure if this is the right area to post in but I'm looking for info on the AKAI LPD8 midi controller http://www.akaipro.com/lpd8 If someone could point me in the direction on "how to map midi controllers to wave files" would be great. What I'm trying to do is turn this controller (and my Mac Book Pro) into a "360 Shortcut". I would like to assign wave files to the pads to play them as sound effects or even music for playback situations on set. I have Pro Tools but have never dealt with the midi side of things. Thanks Andy
