  1. What sparked my questioning is that I was looking into upgrading my recorder for this "flagship" model and realized it was 24/48 maximum.

I even see many "prosumer" recorders with 32/192.

I know that recorders are much more than just specs but I would hate for this expensive recorder to be "obsolete" if I start getting requests for higher resolution within the next years.

  2. I would like a D (digital) version on the Deva . A lot of us are running wireless only systems and as a zaxcom wireless user i'v been using the aes outputs on my Qrx's for years.

A recorder with 2-4 analog inputs and 10-12 aes would be great, Something similar to the sound devices 970 but controller (fader board) compatible.

  3. Unless you have a very particular situation, I have absolutely no idea why you would use a CP Beam as a transmitter zaxnet antenna. You'd have your directors and producers immediately behind you asking why their feeds are dropping out ha, but seriously I use a 1watt amplifier going to a omni direction antenna. Boosts the power and range significantly. With the exception of bleed on my analog inputs...but this has all been talked about quite a bit you can do some searching for more specifics. Good luck mate!

In my situation Zaxnet is only for my Boom op, the scratch track and Tx control. The rest is on a different system (Comtek). This is why i'm looking into a more directional solution mostly for exteriors.

  4. The TRX900 CL has two 3 section bandpass filters. They prevent any transmitter RF from effecting the receivers in the sound bag as long as the receivers are not in the block next to the transmitter block.

Since there is only 1 transmitter for 2 channels of audio and time code there is no possibility of intermodulation products. I think it is as good as you can get.

Is the Maxx Tx the same as the CL ? Minus Zaxnet of course.

  5. Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about updating/streamlining my backup system, and I'm thinking that choosing between a Nomad Lite or Maxx would serve as the best 2nd machines to backup my Nomad 12, which has become my primary recorder. I'm currently using my Fusion 10 as a backup, but it might be a little too much machine to just have it sitting around all day in a Pelican, and I could certainly stand to gain some space in my backups case. I should note that I currently use Lectro wireless, so the Zaxnet considerations are not really a selling point.

I like the idea of having a 2nd, tiny, lightweight rig, for shoots where I might be doing more physical activity, like being out in nature, but I also feel like the Nomad is not really all that much heavier (a little over 1 pound), and the redundancy it would have as a backup might outweigh any advantages of the smaller Maxx.

I think at this point I'm leaning towards another Nomad, but perhaps some of you who know both of these units could maybe share your perspectives and help with my decision? Id love to know if there any real differences between the two, other then track count/size/weight (discounting the Zaxnet IFB in the Nomad vs. Hops Transmitter in the Maxx); thus far I don't see any.

    Thanks in advance,

    E.

I'm curious, Is it for cart or bag use ?

  6. I'm comparing the Tx manual from 2010 and the 2013 (trx900LA) manual

Our TX antennas are different from the RX antennas. They have a slightly different length due to the difference in the base.

The manual indicated the exact same lengths for Tx and Rx ( Qrx100 manual and trx900LA manual)
