  1. I have been using the PRO 750 since April 2012 and really like them. I get far less ear fatigue from these than my 7506's. They fit me more comfortably and are definitely more durable (Broke a few pairs of 7506's, usually the plastic arm holding the ear cup). I feel like they represent what I am actually recording a bit better as well, and are much less harsh than the 7506. One thing to keep in mind, you need to break these in. They sound better after a good amount of audio goes through them. I read many reviews about the longer "Break in period" of these headphones. But I realized it was true, and they do sound a bit odd out of the box.
  2. Ive had a pair for about 3 years. People with battery concerns can put your worries to rest. They work extremely well, are durable and get loud enough for most uses. They hold a charge forever and can run while charging off usb (Charge mine off my BDS usb port).
  3. Going to Whistler B.C. in August for a week of Downhill Mountain biking bliss! So Excited.
  4. I have been using the PSC RF Multi's with the Zaxcom Sharkfins and they have been working fantastically. My Zaxcom stuff ranges from block 21 to 26. (Also cheaper than MicPlexer)
  5. Oh well. I searched for lost gear and didn't see anything. But thanks for the help.
  6. Apparently someone left some sound gear sitting around? If you lost some kit, or think it may have been stolen, check this post. Hope it gets back to whoever owns it. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cwg/3757459042.html
  7. I know your in Canada, not sure how Amazon works up there. But I buy all of mine on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/3M-Transpore-Tape-10-Box/dp/B000K3HSIO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364496006&sr=8-1&keywords=transpore Thats 1.10 a roll! -Chase
  8. I have been using batteries from Paul C buff for over a year now and I couldn't be happier. I can run my nomad 12, 2 QRX100s while charging my cell phone all day and not have to change the battery. They cost about $90 each and charger is 25 dollars. I understand and generally support "you get what you pay for" but I think I found an exception here. IMO, YMMV. -Chase

    Dear Aaton

Yeah! that's what i'm saying, an actual lie detector would have been cheaper!
  10. Found this article hope it helps. Linear taper potentiometer A linear taper potentiometer (linear describes the electrical characteristic of the device, not the geometry of the resistive element) has a resistive element of constant cross-section, resulting in a device where the resistance between the contact (wiper) and one end terminal is proportional to the distance between them. Linear taper potentiometers are used when the division ratio of the potentiometer must be proportional to the angle of shaft rotation (or slider position), for example, controls used for adjusting the centering of an analog cathode-ray oscilloscope. [edit]Logarithmic potentiometer A logarithmic taper potentiometer has a resistive element that either 'tapers' in from one end to the other, or is made from a material whose resistivity varies from one end to the other. This results in a device where output voltage is a logarithmic function of the slider position. Most (cheaper) "log" potentiometers are not accurately logarithmic, but use two regions of different resistance (but constant resistivity) to approximate a logarithmic law. The two resistive tracks overlap at approximately 50% of the potentiometer rotation, this gives a stepwise logarithmic taper.[3] A logarithmic potentiometer can also be simulated (not very accurately) with a linear one and an external resistor. True logarithmic potentiometers are significantly more expensive. Logarithmic taper potentiometers are often used in connection with audio amplifiers as human perception of audio volume is logarithmic.

    Dear Aaton

Wouldn't an actual lie detector have been the cheaper option? haha
  12. Many will store things in the climate controlled indoor storage facilities. Have your carts mostly built in there, and have some shelves with all your extra kit, throw what else you need on your cart and wheel it to the car.
  13. Hey all, Trying to pass this along. I am not IATSE so I had to turn this down, here are the details. Jan 24 &25 12 people will need to be mic'd 3 booms Headset com system (not sure if just for monitoring or 2 way) They are prepared to rent additional gear and crew your department. Please PM me for contact details. Thanks, Chase
  14. I have also had terrible interference with my MKH50, it was just down the hill from the Antennas on MT wilson, so I am chalking it up to that, My mkh60 also had issues, but the 416 was fine. Mine has gold XLR contacts so I assume it is current with RF shielding (got it second hand as well) but I have heard the color of the XLR pins does not guarantee if it has the current RF shielding or not.
  15. I have come to the conclusion that the Sound Mixer is in fact the gaffer. All you have to do is set up your cart where you want a light and within 45 seconds it will be replaced with one, spend 30 minutes shuffling around and congratulations! You just lit the set. Happy holidays!
  16. Really astounding. Can't wait for this to hit the market.
  17. #1 Put a screen protector on the screen. find the rest in the other thread.
  18. Do both anyways. If it is not detrimental, make that extra kit rental, make the producer/director happy, and cover your ass all in one fell swoop.
  19. I email them a picture of me holding a microphone.
  20. I have a button for that somewhere..
  21. If your ever in LA with your bike let me know. I'll take you to some great local trails!
  22. I try to cycle through my rechargables, so i don't just use the same 12 or something every day. If i have some time off and they are all sitting, I will top them off before the shoot starts. (using powerex Maha 2700)
  23. I also don't drink coffee, or soda on set. I always try to put in a request to crafty for mixed nuts and try to eat those and banana's/clementines. And catering - load up on salad and meat, skip breads and starches.
