  1. I've been doing the same thing with the handle of my Petrol bag for years. This looks sturdier though, good idea.
  2. Cool, works with just one camera. Camera expense if they want to use it, then, and they buy a wifi master or rx to interface with us.
  3. That's a base rate that is/has been discussed and agreed upon by several local sound ops up here, but you're right, it's probably too low, and long overdue for a rethink. ASSG QLD, assemble!
  4. Food for thought: In Australia (for TV production) we have a standard 8hr (or in some states 10hr) rate which includes labour, mixer, 2 wireless and boom) - $650 In Commerical land, that base rate increases to $850 but includes a 2-track recorder, a TC slate, and a director IFB. Everything else is a la carte. I don't have a package for long-form drama (features and series) so I can't comment on that apart from it all being heavily discussed and organised in pre-pro - it depends on the show.
  5. Some people (myself included) have had success with the Sanken CS3-e in echoey interiors. The MKH50 and the MKH8050 have tighter patterns than either of the Schoeps mentioned, as does the MKH60.
  6. Rado, I can see that putting IMMENSE strain on the SMA conector, when the bag flexes - seeing as you've removed the top aluminium to make everything fit.
  7. Yeah, that technology that wasn't too inferior for Les Mis, where they were running up to 75 earwigs at a time...
  8. It was! I hope I can make it back next year. Thanks for the info. I'll get in contact if I can't source one through the usual channels. Cheers.
  9. Laurie, do you have a distributor in Aus? Thanks
  10. Yep, it'd be great to either have user groups, or just a preset list of freqs to scroll through.
  11. Ear Monitors Australia 38 Hall Rd Warrandyte South Victoria 3134 +61 3 9844 2524 Moulded induction earpiece with a neckloop. She'll have to wear a receiver pack but you can hide that.
  12. Perhaps they are talking about the power supply in one of the two products mentioned.
  13. Ride the sound cart to work!
  14. Got my 633 next to my CameraLink (which I believe has the same IFB TX as the IFB200) and I don't notice any interference.
  15. You could use a marine battery switch to accomplish this pretty easily. It makes connection before it breaks the other one, which would allow you to swap between two batteries easily.
  16. I've made a 5pin XLR right angle for the ALEXA. Latch faces the front of the camera, cable comes out at 9 o'clock looking at the pins. Yes, that's right in line with one of the pins, but if you're using light enough gauge cable you can go around it pretty easily. Or, go 10 o'clock, between the pin and the shell tab thing, the cable will project forward (towards the lens) a little but will work well.
  17. I'm using the hirose out on the XDCAM's on my current job to power my QRX. Works fine.
  18. How is the segmented LED metering on the 788T better than the 633's display...?
