  1. LMAO! I'm going to have to recycle that phrase sometime. Thanks
  2. Please tell me you made a helmet with two Zaxcom bluefins mounted to the top.
  3. You may want to take a trip to a local rental house and ask these questions. Since lavs are very cheap to rent you can start weighing the pros/cons of the top favorites and make a decision as to what mic you prefer. That 9173 is kinda scary looking. Sorry.
  4. I usually wire all the time, just in case. In regards to "when and where" I usually educate the AD to send talent over to me. This way I'm not running around all over the place trying to find talent and I have all my gear with me in case I need to do some trick wiring. I usually take less then 2 minutes to wire talent and that's including a quick sound check and instructing talent on how to turn off the TX in case they need absolute privacy. Since I'm all Zaxcom'd out I can make any further adjustments to the TX without disturbing talent or slowing production down.
  5. Harlow, Maybe it's time to tone it down a bit and take this "offline". If you are certain you have a case then maybe pursue this as a civil matter or get the authorities involved.
  6. Haha..sorry, this is getting funny now. This thread is all over the place now.
  7. No problem Captain. This is your ship, you run it as you like. I'm getting the popcorn ready. I'm curious to see how this plays out too.
  8. there was also another thread with a cart from Northern Tool.
  9. I really just hope this is a big misunderstanding that you guys can resolve. A person's rep means a lot in this business. Good luck.
  10. Oh sorry, I didn't think you were questioning Ron's expertise. Just thought I'd point out that if there is an issue or any tweaking needed I'm sure Ron could help out. Maybe I spoke to soon. Again, sorry. No, that was another mixer who had modified a welding cart for a follow cart. I believe he bought it from Northern Tool. I made a custom cart from steel square tubing. =)
  11. I'm curious as to why some of the posts from yesterday, especially mine, were deleted??
  12. too bad you're not local to me. I'd let you borrow mine for a test drive. I've yet to get the chance to use it since I landed weeks of bag work after buying it, otherwise I'd tell you my experience with it. As Robert had said you really can't go wrong getting gear from Ron. He's A+ in my books!
  13. Back on this topic please. I'm in the process of trying to make a cable to connect my Nomad to RX-12. Can I use this same method for the cable? I'm working in a small town so I only have access to Walmart. The only USB cable they sell is a printer cable. I wonder if I can buy two of those and splice them??
  14. Just wanted to report that the RX12 has been working well for me thus far. The range is great!!
  15. I agree. I feel very uneasy having the boards exposed to the elements. For now I'm going to use gaff tape to keep them covered.
  16. 1. I already had the SwitchCraft cables 2. The Hirose rt. angle is still longer when fully inserted 3. I had to leave out of state for this show so I didn't have time to wait for the Hirose to come in 4. I didn't feel like buying another bag, more cables, etc. to make a new piece of gear work with what I currently have.
  17. Another thing to note is that since I didn't purchase all 6 receivers I was left with 3 slots that needed to be filled. I called Glenn about this and he suggested possibly cutting foam inserts to plug up the slots. If this is going to be the solution then it might be great packaging the RX12 with a pre-cut foam sheet, not only for shipping purposes, that will allow us to pull out the slot blanks we need. What do you say Glenn, can you help a brotha out and send me 3 blanks?
  18. I just mod'd my unit. I found it very challenging fitting the RX12 into my petrol bag with the current Hirose power cable. I thought about getting a right angle hirose adapter but I believe I still would have had clearance issues. So, I went with SwitchCraft 761k (ground isolated connector) instead. It fits just fine now. =) If you're considering this mod you will have to drill the chassis on the RX12( 25/64 drill bit) to fit the larger diameter SwitchCraft.
  19. I'm starting a show in a few days so I'll be able to put my RX12 through the rigors of reality show production. I'll let ya'll know how it holds up.
