  1. better preset organization system would be GREAT.
  2. "It's like speed dating for radio microphones" Analog AND digital receiver at the same time (ch1 can be analog and ch2 digital or any combination of both) , AES3 output thru Sound Devices Superslot, configuration including whole setup load/save thru web browser (it's running a web server internally), Configuration of all the settings of the transmitter from the SD 688 (the menu trims down to specific receiver options, so no clutter) AND the best thing - compatible with most of the Sennheiser wireless range all the way(HiDyn, 2000, G3) from 9000 series down to Evolution G3 series. Very impressive Sennheiser. To ideal wireless, one needs SD card recording at the transmitter. Wonder if they have something up their sleeves at the moment like that. Audio LTD already has SD recording feature for any transmitter used everywhere except US.
  3. you should let zaxcom know...howard@zaxcom.com is your best bet.
  4. Pete, would you post new pictures please? The old ones don't display here.
  5. Guys, what is your experience with PLAY TO OUTPUTS setting? How does one send a playback from card tracks to output xlr's?
  6. i remember i saw somewhere (facebook) = aka: hearsay (cheers Senator!) that if you choose the Z0xx file naming on the Nomad (the default one, not renaming files to scene and take numbers) the metadata gets written to the mirror while in continous as long as the take is recording, which would imply you _could_ adjust the metadata while rolling, and have the mirror files reflect that at the end of the take. Maybe it works the same with Deva? Again, just a hint - needs testing
  7. Add a low key headphone amp to a g3 receiver.
  8. wouldn't setting Nomad to CJAM / CJAM TC mode instead of FREERUN work? Let me know how it goes, as i am very interested in tentacles.
  9. How about rebuilding the session from original field tracks? Does exporting an OMF or AAF leaves the TC with the files? Or you use EDL files for that and a tool like Titan or EdiLoad?
  10. That is a very weird response - how can that happen? battery distribution system just takes the power from the battery, regulates voltage, and distributes it to various outputs...... I would think that something is wrong with the battery - it looks a lot like mine, the voltage is the same...14.8v, your battery has more capacity, that's the only difference i notice. I've been powering tascam dr680 and sd442 of that battery for a long time, and now use it with Nomad, i always connected the direct out cable (full voltage) to the sd442 (now Nomad), and then used the regulated 12v of Hawkwoods shoe to power the rest of the kit. I think it's a lemon? this is a charger i use - never had problems - got it from pinknoise along with the batteries :http://www.pinknoise-systems.co.uk/swit-sc302-np-1-2-way-charger.html
  11. I use a pair of GlobalMedia Li65N's with SWIT charger (and a Hawkwoods BDS) for a couple of years now. Zero problems.
  12. i also lost my b5 windscreen. you say the sennheiser's fits really well?
  13. +1 w4vz: This is not a Zaxcom support forum, and yes, I should know - I learned the hard way. Go to forum.zaxcom.com if you want "zaxcom staff only" answering your posts. As for your concerns, you should use the machine and read some more, it is very flexible. I am sure you will love it when you know it better... +1 to that, too. w4vz: You seem like you didn't know what machine you were buying? You cannot just buy a car, and then instruct a car manufacturer how it is supposed to work, can you? 95% of your issues come from lack of knowledge, the hardware can do 95-99% of what you're asking it to. Abe Dolinger responded to most of your questions. Oh i see you're a lecturer, and the very first thing you do when you come here (JWsoundgroup) is give a lecture to the host. What a courtesy Good luck with your Nomad.
  14. I LOVE the new site. Search works 100% now. Thank you so much Jeff!
  15. So, if I understand correctly, RG58 made a difference for the better?
  16. how does it sound compared to 664? how are limiters working compared to 664?
  17. easy peasy. you share with ten people right? can they afford a CF card each? everybody saves their settings on their card. done.
  18. That's good. I wouldn't like to mess with perfection.
  19. Ok, since Senator is not here..... Why exactly would you like to update the firmware? Is there something wrong with your Senny™ transmitters/receivers? If it ain't broken don't fix it...
  20. All of this makes me question the decision to work with Nomad, now the 688 is out. I cannot afford frequent trips to the factory from europe, nor waiting long weeks for repair (that i have to pay for, since the hardware is out of warranty) .SD has service center in Europe.
  21. Or better yet, just hire additional people who know the specifics of working in the field better and can test the units & supply valuable input. Some things could be discovered before selling the units....
  22. That is just so wrong.
