  1. YES. MCR42 and 663 works perfectly. TX set à cos11 preset. Normal voice (not very loud). MCR42 at his max analog output level Input 6 on 663 Trim at his max, Fader at 8 (there were still 8 dB of possible gain on the fader)? Peak were at 10 dBu.
  2. Chris, I will try tomorrow( I just receive a 663). Which level do you set the transmitter, for which mic ? The max output level is 8 dBu, a little more than the Lectro SrB (5 dBu). It may be the 663 line input that has not enough gain...Let's try tomorrow.
  3. Yes you can set the output to AES. Chrisyking, It seems to me that you are not familiar with radio frequencies. On their website, Shure, Lectrosonics or Sennheiser have some very good tutorials. The groups maybe different in different MCR42, you can even personalize as regards as the place you are working. In France you can choose the group with its name : groups are made for a specific city. Very usefull and easy.
  4. It depends. In the receiver the tone may be at 0 or -18 dBfs. It should be the same on your mixer, and then you should modulate the audio level as you would modulate a mic.
  5. shut down all the transmitters choose a group (but not 0 or 9*) scan receiver 1, accept the frequency it finds, transmit it by IRDA to the transmitter, put on the transmiter 1 scan receiver 2 in the same group, accept the frequency it finds, transmit it by IRDA to the transmitter, put on the transmiter 2 scan receiver 3 in the same group, accept the frequency it finds, transmit it by IRDA to the transmitter, put on the transmiter 3 scan receiver 4 in th esame group, accept the frequency it finds, transmit it by IRDA to the transmitter, put on the transmiter 4 and so on if you have more radio mics. Jsut note that while shooting if another frequency is coming (from another crew) it may work or... not. Jus t ask the sound guy from the other crew to coordinate his frequencies with yours. If not, youoneed to do again all those scans. *Group 0 and 9 are not free of intermod, they are center and intergap of DVBT channels. Center is to have a quick picture of the spectrum. Choose another locked channel. Intergap in case of a desperate situation without any free frequency ; you can try to work between the DVBT channels.
  6. The four frequencies in the same group is the safer way to do.
  7. From far the majority of the french sound mixers are living in Paris. I am not available at those dates but if you need somebody just send me an email. I will help you to find a sound mixer.
  8. As regard to these videos : Piano without fur is a better wind protection than the Cyclone without fur. Cyclone without fur is better than old Rycore with fur. Piano is also lighter and smaller. I would have liked to hear the test with a fur on the Cyclone, but the weight and the size is a very important point for me.
  9. Vincent, Did you try this way to solve the intermittent connection ? It seems too simple !
  10. Comparison is not easy : The voices may have a different frequencies content as regards to background noise...One voice can be easier than another to hear against the background noise. If one of the transmitters have its level set a bit too high the sound may hit the limiter : it can reduce the difference between voice and background noise. In my experience, a G3 is usually less clear than its challengers (Zax, Lectro, Wisy, Audio...). Anyway some sounds sample may be interesting
  11. The cos 11 preset is set at -8 dB so with minus 3 it gives - 11 dB.
  12. Funny idea Philippe ! Will you loop the tape ?
  13. Edit of my last post: today I minus of 3dB the cos 11 preset...It works perfectly.
  14. I give a look at FB sometimes so ... OK:-)
  15. It is an interesting RX12 's presentation ( but picture in out of sync !)

    Sonosax SX-R4+

We saw it at the Satis in Paris. i do not know if it was an empty box or not. The CF card on the top seems to me a bad idea : dust, food, rain, ... there are so many things that could drop on the slot. I am waiting after it, because i would like a light kit : i like the 633 but it has only 3 mics level inputs and I record many IRT cross...

    Bag Powering Set Up

I use this NP1 cup, with my receivers and transmitters. One Audio LTD 2020 for the boom, 2 MCR42 Wisy (préviously 1 Wisy + 1 SRb), One audio LTD EN2...I haven't notice any RF issues.
  18. I use to work with a presenter that has always its mobile open...It surprised me : I never have had any radio noise coming from his mobile. Most of the time when I hear such a noise... it's coming directly on my headphones cable from my own mobile !
  19. Both are good mics, but between those 2 mics, I prefer the 416.
  20. Inv 7-MK3 : it is more universal, I can change my mics (CMIT, CMC-MK41 or 150) very quickly. Or Cinela: i have the CMIT model it also suits my CMC or MK150 with a little XLR barrel. I am happy with both, but I always give my boom operator the Cinela...
  21. .. It already exists ! I don t like the idea an integrated recorder and wireless : i like to choose my brands and vary my gear. What I would like above all : a mic that do not record noise clothing...
  22. Jwsound strong point is the overseas point of view over our jobs and it is obviously in English, the most spoken language over the world. Maybe you can create a south american or Spanish sound guild. We have done it in France, we organise plenty meetings and a website (afsi.eu) we have also a good place to post in French (sounddesigners.com).
  23. I have 2 MTP40 without limiter. Setting them at the cos 11 preset it works perfectly. Sometimes my actual talents are shouting very loudly, without any sound problems.
  24. So maybe you can hear and noticed any difference ? And then tell about their difference ?
