  1. Interesting review. Thanks.
  2. James,my recorder is a SD788. Receivers in the front pouch (portabrass bag). I always scan with the 788 power on. If I hear a drop : I put the receiver on a higher position, and if I have enough time I rescan the radio band.
  3. Pardon me but, outside of buildings 30 metres is for me a poor range. with a Wisy or a Lectro SrB 50mW transmitters. after choosing a good frequency I got really more than that !
  4. If you set the Lectro in Sennheiser mode ; yes you can. I don't like too the word "true" before diversity because it means that the others systems are un true. No they are just different. The Wisy MCR42 is audio diversity (abusively called true diversity), the Lectro is phase diversity (this another diversity type) . Both are good diversity system. The advantage of the radio diversity is that you can scan channel 2 while recording channel 1. With the SrB you cannot use one channel while scanning the other.
  5. Both are very good, it is a personnal choice ! I choose Wisy because I am travelling a lot and the wide radioband is very helpfull. On documentaries most of the times I set the transmitters to 10mW power, without any problems. On feature on 50mW. Wisy receiver is capable to receive Sennheiser 5000 series and Evolution, Audio Limited and Shure.
  6. On my cart I have a CL9 but I leave the CL8 on my 788. So I can switch very quickly from the cart to a bag scene or a small venue. Sometimes I use the CL9's eq, but not so often. CL9 permits a faster work than an analog mixer : arming tracks is safer, choosing post or pre, using the eq, the delay , ...
  7. I do the same on a show with very long interviews. My stand has a long boom so I can correct it during the interview without doing any noise. On this show the DOP do not let the interviewees move too much, so one mic on the boom works on this show (and the producer do not want any lav). Anyway the idea of two mics on one boom may be useful.

    664 vs. 788t

    On a regular gig : 788+CL8 + 1 Wisy receiver + one Audio LTD transmitter +CMIT I = one NP70 a day ! But for other jobs I use 2 NP batteries.
  9. Thanks guys but ... my shooting was in September 2013 !!!The radio spectrum was mostly free.
  10. It really needs a locking connector. My first goal when buying equipment is to simplify my job . No locking connector means risks, so an unsecure feeling on the set. Not for me. Will it be easy to change batteries ? Are those little Lipos accepted on flight ? LR6 or LR3 will be better in my opinion.
  11. Why not using the new Pianissimo from Cinela which is small, and accepts a CS3 ? http://www.cinela.fr/pianissimo.php
  12. Oups, I type too fast. My sentence is : "I was using Wisycom and Sennheiser." Regards,
  13. I shoot in June in Napoli and Roma. I was using Wisycom. end Senny. Senny bloc B is... very very crowded, I only used it for IFB. My Wisy was most of the times at nearly 470 MHz. As said Senator it is a big country and reliable frequencies are so easy to find in this country. Scan and wideband will be your friends.
  14. Of course you can. You should have better results with "double MStools BF", the other Schoeps plug in that is more complete.
  15. Thanks. So the TC's rate are different, but each seconds are OK. Good idea to indicate it.
  16. Yes this video is ridiculous there is almost no wind !
  17. I really love 2040's sound but...They have no scan, and their radio frequency range is so narrow. Nowadays a scan is very useful. I wish to have a 2040 with a scan and a large radio range. So... they are going away...
  18. You can the PWL 3 from Lebel Audio, it works with only one LR6 all over a day, and adapts to all wireless TX. It is made by a sound guy in Paris. http://www.lebel-audio.com/index.php/fr/produits
  19. Good idea : Zaxcom has to add a Lectro mode in its receiver. Lectro did with the Senny mode, or Wisycom with their Senny, Evo and audio LTD receiving mode... First of all we should encourage manufacturers to use the same plugs on their transmitters and receivers. Another dream !
  20. Sorry too ! I miss your post #129...
