Good news. I am the owner of a Zuca trolley (seen on jwsound ;-) ). http://www.zuca.com/control/product/~category_id=10002/~product_id=10568 I really like it for light cart job. Its weak point is the bag... I would really like to have a "PortaBrace" style for it. Maybe they are some others Zuca owners on jwsound that would also like to change the bag ? I also would to buy a PortaB handle (the same that the one provided for The 633 bag) for my 788ARCL8 bag. Thanks

I would rather say it is a special tool-toy. All those cheap recorders are certainly not a main recorder or mixer but they may be useful in a few particular situations. In the same way a photographer may have a disposable camera for certain situations. As Mark says you should test a SD663. Or at least any professional mixer (SD302 for example) plus a cheap recorder.

Yes and in my opinion the H2n is not so bad and can record some nice atmos if you know how to record sounds ! Its weak points : no low, no high frequencies, unsable in quiet situations, only coincident mics. Its strong points: light, very discret.

Funny : I will work on a commercial next week with same setup ! In my case the mic is a false mic, and they ask for a doco style sound and picture. I will boom and will probably put some lavs.

To hear to signal coming back from the 788, the IFB has to have a better range than the Zaxcom's ? Anyway I am waiting to hear results from a comparison with Lectro or Wisy. From the tests I did last year the SrB and the MCR42 were very good. Really better than the others I tested (G3, 5212, Zax QRX100, audio LTD). The transmitter was in a room at the second floor. The Lectro and the Wisy allowed me to go down the stairs, go down and to walk 50 meters away the building. The other receivers were giving their first drop only in the same floor (20/40 meters) before the first drop : that is not so bad. Manufacturers are working hard to simplify our work thanks !

Matt.. H4N does not accept line level. FirdEist88 : this is not a safe setup, if I were you, I would just record a two tracks back up on the SD552 : recording in location is also mixing ! Zoom is not recommended as a main recorder, especially the H4n. You can do a very good job with "just" a SD552. -
Speak frankly about these overtime with the producer. Big French producers pays overtime. 8 hours a day is supposed to be the rule. With medium and little producers, if you work more than 10 hour a day you have to ask the producer .Most of the times they do pay extra, IF you ask them !
